There's only 1 winner. Hot Rats.

I have the Radiohead and Beatles album each mentioned, as well as one of the Pink Floyd albums.

I was surprised to see a Supertramp album in the list, I would never really have classed them as prog rock.

Yeah very proggy Brendo, they did some pop stuff like Breakfast In America but a lot of their album stuff is proggy

Best Supertramp album is "Crime of the Century" imo which is on that list.

I have a few of the Floyd albums (Dark Side, Wish You were Here and Animals) as well. And Radiohead. Didn't know that I was that much of a prog back in the day.
(I did balance it out however with a healthy dose of Sex Pistols, Clash, Buzzcocks etc...)  ;)

Its a bit silly this list though, its as if Italian & German prog didnt exist

reddishblue

After a quick view I've had at one time or another about 18 of them.  No albums left thanks to an acrimonious divorce.

I keep them in cloud now  :D

reddishblue

This wasn't on the list

bit old but punk has been shit for years anyway

a better score of 19 for me

That's more like it. Had a few of those. Glad to see Stiff Little Fingers in there; seminal band. A few left out though but overall pretty good.

bluepill

opeth! didn't expect to see that in there. Solid prog metal that band!

close to the edge is pretty class though Bill Bruford - bit of a ledge.

The Bevis and Butthead sound track was a great program album

Didnt I meet you at a Yes gig once Swiss  :o

Yes have become a joke of a band nowadays, they hired a (frontman/singer) Jon Anderson soundalike/lookalike from a Yes tribute band for their world tour and latest album, Jon was ill at the time apparently, they didnt tell him, just did it.

Prog is still alive but I dont like anything after about 1978, either from new prog bands (like Dream Theatre) or old prog bands (like King Crimson), old farts like me just seem to like the classic stuff, of which there is thousands of albums in existence, prog in the 70's was a massive worldwide thing, bigger than most people think, Im only just hearing stuff from Russia and South America from the 70's

Anyway, speaking of Yes, Ive never heard anyone play keyboards as well as Rick Wakeman although Keith Emerson (ELP) does come close, listen to his piano on this unplugged gig

nimrod

Who remembers this famous song by The Carpenters, not many know it was written as an album track by 70's prog band Klaatu

Maybe in a former life... I'm 32!
