Title: v Real Madrid 1st leg
Post by: gavin on April 26, 2022, 19:17:57
XI | Ederson, Stones, Dias (C), Laporte, Zinchenko, Rodrigo, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Jesus

SUBS | Steffen, Carson, Ake, Sterling, Gundogan, Grealish, Fernandinho, Egan-Riley, Mbete, Palmer, McAtee, Lavia

Still problems at the back. Jesus earns his place. Come on City.

Had a fair few let offs before their goal. Need to take all these good chances we've had.

This is football. Great half of football. Shame we missed chances but they had other chances too. Fernandinho came on and oozed class from the off. KDB just awesome. Eddie living on the edge again.

4-3 and we should have score more than 10. Such a shame that we don't finish our chances. So unfortunate that it hit Laporte's head and then his arm. Then it hits their defender to just fall out of reach of Dias at the end. Real Madrid can consider themselves lucky. City should be confident to go to Madrid and beat these.

Oh, for the lack of a striker yet again!

4-2 would have made me feel confident for 2nd leg. The tie is finely balanced.

Difference between the two last night was Real put away their chances we didn't. It should have been 4 nil rather than 2-1 at HT.

Is it just me or is Edersons passing to the back 4 looking dodgy at the moment? I've thought it was a while now. He seems to be playing it to defender's already under pressure and then we dont look comfortable.

We know we can score against Real, so even if they score first we shouldn't panic.

Great game for the neutral but frustrating for us City fans.

Hope Walker is fit for the return leg.Cant have that kid taking the piss again out on the wing.He needs to stopped.
Also hope Stones is going to be ok.He has been superb.

Very frustrating match again. Ultimately the win was important but it could have been a demolition if we had a full on striker to bang in everything that comes into the box. The game management could have been alot better aswell. Being two nil up and needlessly giving the ball away and Ederson needs to start being quicker with his distribution cos he just invites pressure onto himself and others. The tie is far from over unfortunately.

Great game. Walker and Cancelo will make the difference for the return. Confident.
