Silva hasn't been at his very best this season although his scoring record is good. I suppose you could consider Fabregas as well though his form has dipped since the New Year.

I have been very cynical about the worth of this award for quite a few years now and then the other day I learnt that Sergio has never been in the team. Amazing.
