Depends of course on the type of fracture. Here is Aus, AFL players who cop eye socket fractures bad enough to require surgery are usually out for about four weeks - say a month. Some players have been known to be back playing after eye socket injuries after just a couple of weeks (sometimes with an impact mask) - and not forgetting AFL is a contact sport!
