Decent bloke but not convinced that he was good enough to hold down a place in the middle of the City midfield. I certainly wouldn't be expecting the manager to guarantee him one and it is good that we were honest with him in talks. In some ways I still think he'd have been better staying and fighting to be in a winning side. However at least he has done it and has the medals to prove it. What will Delph be able to point to at retirement? He helped prevent Villa get relegated a couple of times.

I think Milner's move may also have had something to do with a rather hefty signing-on fee, he is a Yorkie after all.  ;)
