the England lasses especially the City ones. :)
Yes they were poor the first half but the better team in the second and deserved winners.
Idon't think they'd won a match in the World cup prior to this competition!
They certainly hadn't won a knockout match. Great strike by Lucy Bronze for the winner.
Interesting concept here, an English team with an American keeper....... :) but we'll done!
Thankfully both her parents are English so she's much less likely to go on a killing spree.
Unless they're related to Hindley and Brady....
Unlike the American Olympic teams...

Valid point. I did say "less likely" though ;)
Or Shipman, though he was a bit more creative than a gun!
now the semis finals to come, Japan will not be easy be interesting to see how they do?
Yes very well done!
The women have shown far more character and determination in this tournament than the men have managed in 25 years of relative failure since Italia 90. Canada were technically superior but England were more clinical when the chances arrived.
The Mens team would prob struggle in this tournament :D
City would struggle in this tournament :cheerleader: :)

Canada wasn't technically superior at all, England played different tactics that worked; which was mostly defensive and hit Canada on the break.

Canada's passing and close control were better, England repeatedly gave the ball away but Canada failed to capitalise on their domination of possession.

Congrats to them. Not beaten Germany in 20 matches or something like that...
We will have 5 of them in the city womens team soon i bet. :D
We already have.
i know thats why i said it.
thought it interesting on radio commentary about how good City's facilities must be as their fitness levels are so good.
Well done to the Lionesses and the City players especially.
And just now to the USA who tonked Japan in the final. Great excitement here. Well done to the US girls... :cheerleader:
