Bloody Walker, stood with arm up after playing the bloke onside. He's not had a good half. We've had our chances but Haaland's chances have been with his head. This could still go either way but I fancy us to score.

Foden wasted on the right.

They are starting with the gamesmanship and time wasting.

They started with the gamesmanship shortly after kick off in the first half. A great finish from Kev but then you'd have backed him to score the winner from the real big chance he had after. Still this should be a long half an hour for Real Madrid.

Pens. And our best two pen takers off the pitch.  :(

I never fancy us in penalties. But we have got some who should be decent takers on the pitch.

Players of the class of Bernard and Kova should do better with their penalties. Nice to see Eddie get his chance. We just have to move on and go for a league and cup double.

Bitterly disappointed.

120 mins to lose on pens. We were the better side but never fancied us in the shoot out.

We weren't good in ET despite all the possession. We looked less like scoring after the Haarland and KDB subs.

Sickner. Big game on Sat too.

Better team lost tonight. They played for the shootout and we failed to win in normal or extra time.

That's life, we move on and make sure we win the PL title.

Good performance by the players just lacked that extra goal or a lucky break.

Lesson to be learnt

Let Ederson take penalties when required.

Madrid were very average and should have been put to bed, but onwards and upwards with the PL and FA in our sights.

Didn't sleep well after that game. Too wound up.

However, If we keep playing like that we should do ok for the rest of the season but our side is showing some deficiencies that were exposed last night.

Lack of pace up front and at the back (without Walker).

We've missed Mahrez and Gundogan this year. Replacements weren't good enough.

Some key players form has dropped too. Haarland, Alvarez and Diaz.

It's probably up front we've struggled this season the most. Despite all the possession last night we really struggled to create clear cut chances.

I feel it was reflective of it Year. We are prime to lapses of concentration at the back (their goal) and we are lacking cutting edge up front at times. Partly due to players settling in.

Too early to judge the new players they need the first year under their belt.

However, we lack goal scoring midfielders especially ones like Gundo arriving late in the box. I felt last evening only KdB was ever going to score a goal.

We had the chances. KDB's second chance was better than his first and Phil would normally bury his chance too.
