We need to score or we risk losing confidence if they score. We still look a bit light up front in attack even though we are dominating the game.

WTF is wrong with our players none of them want to shoot, preferring a pissy pass rather than a shot at an open goal. Aguero excepted. Sterling, Silva, DeBruyne (now affected).

Just have the balls to shoot even if you screw the shot up.

Touch, touch, touch, touch, touch, touch, touch, shoot.

There is no way the Referee or lineman could not have seen that blantant push on Sterling. Bias.

Robbed of 3 points today by Referee again but so full of promise today. Jesus brings youth enthusiams and skill to the team as done Sane and DeBruyne.

Utter shite. 2 nil up at home. Pep should be ashamed. We played well but if you can't defend what's the point. I'm fed up of talking about our defence.

Not really the defences fault tonight.

Bad refereeing cost us a golden opportunity to go 3-1 up and Jesus was unlucky to wander just offside.

At the start I would have taken a draw, but that feels more like a loss.

I don't think that's pep's fault at all. It's the ref. We had 5 pen shouts and 2 of them were pens in my eyes.

Ref again fucks us over, but defence did fail twice. Not sure that Kane was onside though

Today, I feel cheated by the Official's, further, Sane was MOM for me, but I can say Bravo is consistent, his stats are now 15/23.......lol

In fact, I don't agree with your post at all. The tactics nullified Spurs for almost all of the match.

First half they didn't have a shot on target.

It's not just this game Swiss. The defence has been shite all season. He's done nothing to fix it and in fact made it worse.

Any, and I mean any team in the league would fancy their chances against our defence. It's just not good enough.

I was talking to an Everton fan after that debacle and he made the point that teams just dont fear City anymore, a fact that's down to a shocking defence and keeper.

Push, penalty, red card and blatant. The referee and lineman to blame.

3 1 up game over.

When the defence is called upon to excel they just are not good enough, nowhere near but that is not the reason we drew today. Officials are the main reason.

City played very well today. Yet again didn't take our chances though and they scored all theirs. It's a very familiar refrain. Ref was abysmal.

Happens a lot this abysmal reffing when City play London clubs: remember Chelsea?should of had a penalty and side-show Bob sent off; so I'll say it, today was 10 against 12( I am not counting Bravo as he contributes nothing to the team); so if the FA want to sue me: feel free😈

An awful lot of positives today especially Jesus replacing Sterling. Pacey and packing a finish which Sterling does not and never will. I'm now hopeful for the rest of the season espeicially if we buy a central defender.

Just watched the highlights; cheers Lloris. Should have had a penno. Shame Jesus couldn't stay onside. WTF was Clichy doing for their first goal? He could have easily got to that ball first.

We created plenty, enough to put the game out of reach. KDB and Sane were superb. Referee did us no favours. The transfer window closes in 9 days, are we signing anyone who will make a difference?

Except for the most part the defence was good! The opposition only had two chances. Against a decent team that's not too bad. Unless you concede to them both of course.

My thoughts too. I've never rated Clichy good enough for a top 4 team. He offers nothing in attack and he's an average defender. All he had was pace and now he's losing that.
Title: Re: City at home to a bigger club (Spuds)
Post by: KunDB on January 23, 2017, 19:25:46
Clichy was about half the distance from the ball compared to the Spurs attacker but inexplicaby showed no desire to go get it. Fire him.

As for the Sterling (Non) Penalty the Referee Marriner was like a slow lumbering overweight plough horse all day and the break was just to fast for him. He was left trailing well behind and out of position when the blatant foul occurred. Now the linesman was equally as bad, when the pass was made beautifully he started running but he was well outpaced and was not much better than the helf way position between the half way line and deadball line. Meaning, he had most likely an obstructed view of the incident as Walker was in his line of sight.

In short, two unfit incompetent officials turned the game on its head. If they are not fit, too fat, too slow then they should be shown the door.

IMHO if it was Utd or Liverpool or Arsenal they would have taken a punt on the decision and give it as a penalty pronto tonto.

I know you reckon refs are against us Zabba but I don't see it
An example is......Our first goal was handball

Sterling had already took a dive in the game and refs don't give him decisions because he does it quite often.

And the ref didn't see the sneaky push, he can't run as fast as the ball

Assistant should have been up with play and helped him out. Thought that's what they were there for.
Title: Re: City at home to a bigger club (Spuds)
Post by: KunDB on January 24, 2017, 08:14:03
Of course he cannot run as fast as the ball but have you watched him trying to run. Take a look at the video of the game and just watch Marriner.

By any standard he is slow and unfit, for which we paid the price.

He saw the not so sneaky push by Alli and just gave a yellow. It was a clear red. 5 minutes later he scored.

I don't see it as handball; Yes it did hit his hand but the keeper headed it onto his hand from close range, therefore unintentional.

No one of  sane mind (ignore pun) could call that intentional hand ball.
Title: Re: City at home to a bigger club (Spuds)
Post by: KunDB on January 24, 2017, 10:27:02
In terms of refs being against us well their decisions have been flawed at critical times in most of our recent big games. It's a mindset issue that derives from Skysport influence. Get a key decision wrong harming City no media fuss. Give a wrong decision in favour of City replay after replay, commentators outrage and calls for ref to be stood down. The opposite is broadly true for Utd and Liverpool as the commentators and Sky are Rags and Scouser centric.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most is that we played well, were the better team (by some margin), and yet we could only carry off a single point.

We are a little shot shy sometimes. Aguero doesn't look at his instinctive best just now, and Sterling has a habit of wanting to take an extra touch before shooting. We were creative and quick with our passing and did more than enough to win the game handsomely - but this is the mighty Spurs and the rules say they always have to be kept in it or most of the London viewers turn off. I've nothing to say about our defensive lapses which hasn't been said already - aside from Spud's first goal being some of the worst ball watching from a City defence I've seen in a long while.

Our new Jesus looks very good!
