Dead
Sad news.Loved him.One of my hero’s
I’m seeing and hearing a lot of whining from the English media about the “hand of Godâ€. It’s a bit different here in Scotland 😁
Won't be another like him
Mutu came close with the old cocaine! And then there was the fowler incident...

So if you and Stevie are both me dads, I assume he vaccinated you?
you are adopted
Thank Christ for that!
Absolute fucking legend, best I've ever seen
3 days of national mourning in Argentina
Says it all
A great footballer, pity he had to revert to cheating and drugs. Gone the same way as a lot of maradona's
Paddies and Welsh coming out of the woodwork. He was a cheat at the highest level and even when he was presented with the evidence he would not back down....
I think Maradona gets singled out for cheating when the game is rife with it.
Plenty of others that have done it in major internationals/ competitions
Yes Swiss but he still didn't have the decency to put his hand up (sic) and admit it and he had a lot of years in which to do just that. I watched to game and it was so obvious, still cannot believe how the officials missed it...
I don't think he ever shyed away from the fact it was a hand ball, calling it the hand of God.
He just wasn't sorry about it.
No different to Henry.
Even during celebrating the goal he told other players to run to him incase it was disallowed
To be fair England would have lost anyway

Most of his career on coke, that's not exactly a performance enhancer

Lineker did an interview with him and he admitted it was had ball. Lineker said aswell that he doesn't blame him for it, he blames the referee and linesman.
It was cheating but that doesn't alter the fact that he was also a fantastic footballer. Among the best ever without doubt.
I actually don't view his cheating handball as badly as Henry's. You have to view it in the context of how he and his country felt about that game. Henry was just casually cheating at football but, whether you agree with their grievances or not, Argentina were desperate to win that game for more than footballing reasons.
The other goal was just amazing anyway.
The funniest part of the second goal is watching Peter Reid doing an impression of someone running through treacle with diving boots on!
Whenever I see that goal, I'm always surprised no one took him out.
Poor old Reid.
He wasn't the fastest but steadfast....
