Title: City Sevilla
Post by: silvablue on October 21, 2015, 08:12:45
City have only kept one clean sheet in 15 CL home games.

That shows were we need to improve; in the CL to become serious contenders.

No Silva, no Aguero.

Bloody quiet here at the ground, is any bugger else bothering? Surprised kolorov ain't starting but suppose Sagna was good enough at weekend. Vinny left out is a bit controversial.

Pelle clearly not happy VK played for Belgium. I'm not surprised.

Same old story, Pelle never learns. 442 does not work well.

Our defence is not being protected very well, but it is suspect anyway. Conceded at home yet again!

Great to see Navas shooting on sight.

For a team which only defends to have us pinned back at home is fecking sad!
Absolute suite!

If we had a proper CM we'd be dangerous!

OK Yaya made the first goal but feck me...

Watching the Sevilla players run back and forth with purpose as a team reaffirmed that our cm just isn't hard working enough.

Great result, shit performance. KDB is quickly becoming a legend.

As for the central midfield, get Pjanić in before he ends up at Bayern and bench Yaya or send him on holiday or something.

Bony just isn't up to this level, which is a shame. Loads of effort but not good enough.

Bony has the attention span of a corpse.

How he mis-kicked the first goal is beyond me.

Midfield far too stretched and too easy played round and through.

Defence is as wobbly like jelly.

Mega win in terms of qualifying and that is what matters most.

Looking at the two teams, who would you have out of the Sevilla team. Only the plank for me. So work rate/tactics are the problem?

Yaya is no longer a full game player, though he contributed more in this game than I have seen recently. He cannot do running/pressing or defensive duties in general, bin him off.
KDB is already a class act, and he has a few years to get even better.
Navas looked like a better player than we have seen for a long time, psychology came into play for this game, all self motivation. The club needs to change sports psychologist as they obviously are not getting the best from the players.

Superb result, but how far are we going to get playing like we did?

Well I would hope that we won't play like that again but then it does seem to be a pretty consistent event at home in the Chumps. KDB proved he was a bargain again. I'm beginning to give up on Bony, keep hoping he will come good but it is not looking promising it has to be said. He's still not finishing and not looking good in general play at the moment either. Anyway good result thanks to Kev.

I find it hard to watch navas and sterling as they are so wasteful of possession. I don't understand why we let the strikers go that we did and replaced them with bony. Still maybe a run of games will help him.

It's the premiership's fault we are so bad in CL.

Because Jovetic was always injured and Dzeko couldn't play ball...

We need the Bony that was playing for the Swans, he was a hustle bustle hell of a shot guy!

Nacho needs a shot!

Wouldn't write bony off yet. He has never had the run of games to get up to speed, plus the fact he had Malaria over the summer which won't help him.

He's got a chance to get a few games together now with Sergio injured

Generally strikers we buy either kick ass or we talk about giving them time. Then after 18mths and tens of millions  later we accept they were always a bit shit. Im Skeptical but always happy to be proven  wrong!
