Close call but no transfer ban, one down more to go. Hard to explain why City have been so negligent.

Manchester City have avoided a transfer ban despite being found guilty by Fifa over the international transfer of minors.
The Blues have been fined £315,000 for the transgressions, believed to relate to the transfer of African teenagers George Davies and Dominic Oduro from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana to Danish side Nordsjaelland.

The pair told a Danish newspaper that they had signed for City and played in youth matches before turning 18, which is against Fifa rules.
There was speculation that City would receive a transfer ban from the world governing body.

It doesn't seem like it was a very serious contravention and City have fessed up to it so in football terms a slap on the wrist. City's statement pointedly says that they were happy with the process too. No doubt to contrast with UEFA.

It seems the two players concerned were on trial at City for a few weeks back in 2016 and City mistakenly thought they could play them in organised youth team friendlies but that was against the FIFA regulations on U-18 transfers. Hence we received a light punishment compared to the likes of Real, Barca and Chelsea who systematically broke FIFA rules involving numerous players over a period of years.

It hasn't stopped the usual suspects whining about it.
