From a Spanish paper. Won't be announced until after he's finished with the Euro's.

Shalke saying nothing has been negotiated.

In other news, Mark Kennedy has come back to us to coach the kids. We can look forward to our future players firing in bullet crosses from now on...

First I've seen of being linked to Ricky Rodriguez

Ludo

He's excellent. Plays in the middle of a back 3 for Juve and Italy, had a decent enough euros up to the penalty shootout fiasco.

£50 mil might be a bit much considering his age but Pep said long ago he was his favourite player.

Swiss

You'll have to ask the old lady  ;D

He's played all 5 matches at the Euro's, playing every minute

- Belgium 0 - 2 Italy
Leonardo Bonucci - 7
A sensational pass to set up Emanuele Giaccherini’s goal, combined with that useful ability to attract the ball in defensive situations, made him the standout man of the game for the Azzurri. One of the best around in his position at the moment.

- Italy 1 - 0 Sweden
Leonardo Bonucci - 6

His use of the ball wasn’t as spectacular as it was against Belgium. Sweden seemed a bit more aware of his ability to launch balls over the top. But his defending was assured, contributing to an effort that ensured Sweden had just four shots on goal.

- Italy 0 - 1 ROI (9 changes from the Belgium line up)
Player rating:
Leonardo Bonucci - 5

Was put in an unfair position by Antonio Conte, having to captain the team while ensuring he did not get booked in a meaningless game. That doesn’t excuse his poor touch and subsequent dive that allowed Wes Hoolahan a one-on-one with Sirigu, and losing Robbie Brady for the goal.

- Italy 2 - 0 Spain

Leonardo Bonucci 7.5

That shirt pull on Sergio Ramos could have been a penalty, but the Real man milked it for all it was worth. Truth is, we want Claudio Gentile-like characters at the back who disrupt the opposition as best they can, and who inhabit the grey area. Particularly enthusiastic about his second-hand handball, for which he was somehow not booked.

Italy 1 - 1 Germany (Germany win on Pens)

Leonardo Bonucci - 7

Didn’t put a foot wrong the entire game, and his penalty during normal time was as good as they come. His effort in the shootout wasn’t bad either, but was matched by a very good save from Manuel Neuer.

Not really sure what to make of him tbh. Talked of highly but I've never really took much notice of him before.

zacc

well unlike most City transfers/players he's not injured (yet!) ;)

Swiss

Looking at his "Duel" stats for the serie A last year, I'm not overly impressed with his tackles and headers!

But I need to compare him with someone...

Squawka stats actually rate Bonucci the 8th best defender in Serie A last year. This only accounts for defensive actions, not goals scored.

The best... Ascerbi from Sassulo! Presumably given more opportunity to score higher due to more attacks from the opposition. But that means more chances of making mistakes too.

Defence only score
Francesco Acerbi score: 900 - Sassulo
Andrea Costa: 583 - Empoli
Barzagli: 577 - Juventus
Antonelli: 560 - Milan
Armando Izzo: 541 Genoa
Lorenzo Tonelli: 513 Empoli
Silva Duarte: 508 Empoli
Bonucci: 495 Juventus
Bonucci: 495

With all stats he's rated second behind Acerbi

Was from Football-Italia.net.
Tbf, looking at the rest of the teams markins, 7 was a really high mark.

zacc

he'll have to time his sliding tackles if he comes to City/EPL

nailed it

Neil Mcnab

The potential signing of Bonucci is surely with Kompany and his injury problems in mind. Will Kompany ever do a full season again? If he is absent, Bonucci can provide the experience and organisation that those younger CBs around him will need to improve. With Bonucci as one of the CBs, confidence should be sky high whoever else is alongside him.

zacc

as you were Bonucci stopping at Juve

Swiss

Ah the well.

I see Boro are putting in a bid for Subotic, wasn't he supposed to be shit hot a few years ago?
