A big win for Fifa and Uefa over the hard core 'wanta' breakaways: Real Madrid, Barcelona & Juventus. In summary, the court found that if they wanted a super league just break away and do it without Uefa and the other clubs. but they would need approval to stay in their leagues (oops). Their legal teams could not explain why they simply would not do this (ps money is the answer).

(The main findings in the opinion were succinct. "The Fifa-Uefa rules under which any new competition is subject to prior approval are compatible with EU competition law," Rantos wrote. "Whilst ESLC is free to set up its own independent football competition outside the Uefa and Fifa ecosystem, it cannot however, in parallel with the creation of such a competition, continue to participate in the football competitions organised by Fifa and Uefa without the prior authorisation of those federations.")

Hard to know what it means for us football fans, but it cements the power in the hands of FIFA & UEFA. It definitely has blown out of the water the plans of the three breakaway rebels, who will now have to come crawling back.

All the euro leagues apart from the German league are financially fucked

Football is run by wankers. That includes FIFA, UEFA and the cartel clubs that tried to stop City. I just hope that City don't get involved with them again. Don't gang up with them to start a closed shop or stop investment into other clubs.
