Title: Chelsea v The Champions
Post by: gavin on August 18, 2024, 15:35:43
CITY XI: Ederson, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Kovacic, De Bruyne (C), Bernardo, Doku, Savinho, Haaland

Subs: Ortega Moreno, Walker, Stones, Ake, Grealish, Nunes, Foden, O'Reilly, McAtee

Bit surprised to see Lewis start ahead of Walker but none of the finalists from the Euros are starting.

Always a worry without Rodri

Decent effort from Savinho first half. Doku in and out. Great finish from Erling, I thought he had taken it on too long but lovely. Bernard buzzing about as usual and Kev has looked likely to produce at some stage. Some dodgy moments at the back but away from home at a club like Chelsea that is only to be expected. Please score another soon City.

Still trying to get rhythm in our play but leading and performing well enough.

Lovely Haaland goal.

Savinho looking good for debut.

Ask to play for second half

C'mon city

I put 2 quid on 3-1 City win at 12/1. So far so good.

Impressed with Savinho hope he gets one in my fight with Skybet.

Good win in the end.

Cracker goal from Kovacic.

Onwards and upwards.

Not happy, I lost 2 quid  ;D

Saying that it was an excellent performance. We looked fit and sharp from the start and the extra speed out wide both in attack and defence was outstanding. We didn't miss Alvarez at all.

I thought we did miss Alvarez. He would have been very helpful running around for the last fifteen minutes chasing everything up front. Erling's race had been run. Interesting interview on Sky abiut his goal.

Though Sanchez did make a good save against him later in the game.

All in all an excellent win. Two more points than we got there last season.

Fuckin mint win against a physical Chelsea that we matched and we had a bit of a half arsed defence and midfield.

Best gave I've seen Kovacic play for us. Roders is da man hut if Kova can keep that up it's our league again. MOTM.

Great performance and well deserved.  Nice seeing Cucarella made a fool out of by Haaland.  If you're going to big it up then you need to back it up, and Haaland walking by him  when he was on the ground was one of the highlights for me  ;D
Lewis was MOM for me, but Savinho was brilliant and is going to tear defences apart.  Bernardo was immense.  Kev seems a bit off at the moment but still sharper than last season.
Enzo as captain?  He was shite!  Cheating cnut!
