Post by: gavin on December 01, 2024, 14:51:13
CITY XI: Ortega Moreno, Walker (C), Akanji, Dias, Ake, Lewis, Gundogan, Nunes, Bernardo, Foden, Haaland

Subs: Ederson, Carson, Grealish, Doku, De Bruyne, Gvardiol, Savinho, O'Reilly, McAtee

Thankfully Dias returns. But a bit of a surprise in net.

Just buzzing now, looking forward to the game win or lose.

Right decision to drop Ederson, needs a wake up call. Went Wallet is still on I do not know.

C'mon City

Akanji let the cross in too easily for their goal and Walker was asleep on the back post. It was not good enough defensively and for most of the first half. We are still in the game and have players on the bench who can change it.

Is Stones injured again?

Yes he is.

A word for the ref. An immediate yellow for Nunes but it takes two worse fouls for Gravenberch to get booked. Typical Anfield reffing.

Stones is injured yet again.

It took us 20 minutes to start competing like a team. Some players are just past their best and need to be rested then sold in the Summer. The first 20 minutes was a one-sided embarrassment.

C'mon City we are still in the game.

The referee had been weak and let them away to way too often.

Dias mistake compounded by yet another Walker mistake.

Our defence is a shambles and was to a lesser extent even last year. I felt that it was not gold standard, and we just got away with a lot.

Now it's a mistake waiting to happen every minute.

Piss poor display both attacking and defensively. Not nearly good enough. We are in a fight for the top four position now.

We probably dominated the ball second half, but what's the point of doing that to create no chances.

Big chance missed this Summer to refresh/balance the team, meaning an even bigger clear-out needed next Summer. Less oldies more goldies who create more chances and score more goals.

Sorry but We're a very poor team at the moment. It's not good enough from Pep or the players. You can't go from being champions to playing like this in such a short period of time. Unacceptable.

Its really strange how all of a sudden, the wheels have come off

I just dont get it . A team full of confidence reduced to this overnight
