With Khaldoon saying he wants players in before this ridiculous CWC thing, maybe these are the first 2.
Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders (https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1928725836846272615)
It does sound like we have solid targets and we will act quick to get them. I can't say that I know much about them though.
All I know is they play for Lyon and AC respectively :)
We need WB's...
Prob got too many CB's
And a few others ineffective that need to move on
Goals from midfield is what we need imo. Help take some of the burden off the big man. Doku and Savhino need to score more. Savhino in particular looks useless with his shooting. Can't let Foden off the hook either, what a shocking 12 months he's had.
Think we scored the 3rd most goals in the league last season? That's a big drop from previous seasons.
A fully fit and firing Phil would make a massive difference but it would be a big mistake to rely on that. We need a big signing after Kev's departure. No-one can replace him but we need someone to at least be able to take some of the responsibility for creation in midfield.
Gvardiol best position imo is left centre back, it improves his forward vision. So what we really need is a left back. Not had one since Kollywobbles was with us.

Wouldn't mind him. Pacey, skilful LB who contributes a fair few assists.

Easy to forget savinho just turned 21.
Phil I think has suffered from burnout, and PG has kept him out for periods to protect him

I'm going to call him Rudolf. Now all you have to do is make up a song.
Cherki Cherki cheep cheep I propose for the other guy whoever he is.
Looks like Jack could be up the road
It is so good to finally hear that we are on the cusp of signing a true left full back. Ait-Nouri, now I hope the same happens for the right full back position.
If we want to be a top team in Europe and the world, we need an absolutely solid defence, with serious all out professional defenders which until now we haven't really had recently. They can be wing attackers second, but defenders supreme first, that hasn't been the case for a while at City. Too many fill-in fiddles.
C'mon City. I'm really excited by these signings and this in January past.
Ait-nouri supposedly passed his medical, announced tomorrow.
RB - Livoramento from Toon linked, but stalled.
Think we need to get rid of a couple of CBs...
Dias
Gvardiol
Akanji
Ake
Stones
Khusanov
Reiss
Simpson-pussey
Think 2 to 3 will be gone
We have probably seen the last of Johnny Stones I reckon. Ake, Akanji and Gvardiol also play at full back. There is the potential for four of those to play together. Simpson-Pusey will probably go on a loan. Maybe Reiss too.
Looks like Rudolf is with us

For those wondering who Ckerki is, this is a good write up from the beeb. Scored a cracker in the week against Spain apparently.
Cherki (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cy0k280yz80o)
Quite some goal. So it looks like at least two signings in the next couple of days.

Stones probably up the road , great player but injured far to often
Window closes tomorrow so we better get our skates on if we want to have some new signings for the club World Cup.
Like the look of all the ones we're are linked with but have to say I'm disappointed we're out of the Wirtz race. Thought he was the best of the players available this year.
I think Wirtz is around the cost of all three of our expected signings (Reindeer, Ait Nouri and Cherki) put together which puts into perspective why we haven't pursued it.
We'll only know in the future if buying 3 for the price of 1 is good business.
1 that turns into a player as good as Kev would be worth the money.
Nouri announced.

So good to have a dedicated left back. That said no doubt Pep will play him up front with Haaland, and put Foden in at left back. I hope I'm joking.
He looks to have a deft touch and loads of skill for a left back. Let's hope he can defend.
Not that I know anything at all about football tactics but I hope to see Gvardiol in the left centre back position more often.
New Goalie
Marcus Bettinelli (https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1932114717914317049)

BREAKING: #ManCity have reached an agreement with Rosenborg to sign Sverre Nypan for a fee of £12.5M with no further contingencies or sell-on clauses. A proposed contract until 2030 is on the table for the midfielder. The 18-year-old is expected to go out on loan.

Ederson is committed to Manchester City for next season.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Ederson has spoken of his commitment to Manchester City for next season. When asked about his future, Ederson said: "My future is here. Some friends send me a lot of news but 99 per cent is fake news. I understand but there's a lot of fake news around my name. My head is staying at the club. It stays with the City. It gives me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well."
Livramento news circling again.
If he comes, gotta be curtains for Rico
I think that we are finished for this summer probably.
Dunno after that showing...
If there's a chance for Donnarummer, then that's a must be! (I don't think there's a real chance).
Looks like Jack could be up the road for 40M
Pity , not sure were it all went wrong for him at City
£40 million would be a decent price for him. But whilst you wonder what went wrong for him, also wonder what he has won. He was a key player in our treble season. I would consider him a successful signing.
Man City have agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to reports.
Diving, dirty, cheating bastard got Rodri sent off. He has a lot of work to do to make amends, if he signs.
Can he play right back?

Rumours around today that Ederson is off to Turkey and Trafford is returning.

Quote from: Stephen Paul on July 17, 2025, 12:58:50Reports Stones, Oreilly, Kovacic, and Bobb all heading for the boot
I hope O'Reilly and Bobb aren't. I like them both.
I'd rather sell Kovacic and fundog and give O'Reilly the minutes.
Pretty sure he can play anywhere in midfield, and also cover LB.
I haven't seen any reports of selling O'Reily or Bobb. Where are you seeing that Stephen?
Have to be honest. I've never seen anything in Bobb that says he's going to be regular. Never understood the hype. But I do think O'Reily has the potential. Hope he stays as a minimum.
Lots of bull flying around. I read this morning that Bernard wants out. But he has been made captain so I just don't see it at all. Eddie also just recently said that talk of him leaving was made up. I can't see Bobb leaving either. Must of this stuff is just crap.
Bobb was looking shit hot till the injury. Give him a bit of time
Ederson, has been heavily linked with a move to Galatasaray for 3 million , bit low that
Hopefully bollocks
Depends how much we want to move him on...
Trafford or Donnarummer...
Both have their merits.
Don has the experience and is only 26. Big and imposing.
Trafford is one of our own and I really want him to succeed.
Either are better shot stoppers than Eddy. But neither will be as good with their feet.
James Trafford (https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1948680616796459433)
Future England's number 1
Happy to have him back. Hope he continues to develop.
Interesting, it probably means that Eddie will leave then.
At 6'6" it's nice to have a large keeper.
He's been playing out from the back at Burnley.
I expect a few mistakes as he's still young, so it's important to keep behind him
Quote from: gavin on July 25, 2025, 17:47:20Interesting, it probably means that Eddie will leave then.
Last year of contract and already saying he won't renew , so Pep thinking ahead as usual
Ideally we'll ease him in this season, keeping Eddie number 1 but giving Trafford plenty of games so he's ready for next season as number 1 when Eddie leaves.
Dunno, Eddie's form has been up and down faster than Chasey Lane.
Trafford could quite easily take the no.1 spot

No hint of a medical today.

The fact that he gets number 1 does seem significant but he will still have to earn the shirt under Pep.
