Good line up for us.

Caretaker/Undertaker (Carrick) playing it safe, picking all the old experienced players, the old dogs.

He should be perfect as a stand in Utd manager to keep their downward spiral going. Though I have some recall of him advocating aggressive attacking football for the previous managers.

Come on City. Go ahead make my day. I'll take a mere 3 1 or 10 1 even better.

Slightly concerned about the defence today

It's not often your see someone tackle someone's knee with their studs and not get sent off

Why are we so shite at taking corners

Woeful first half

It was a poor half indeed. Very disappointing. The wingers should be putting more pressure on the full backs now they're on yellow cards. Dalot should have had a red.

I never watch Sky outside of the match itself.

We've been so poor, getting what we deserve at this point

Title run over and embarrassed by Utd. Great day this.

We don't deserve to be in title race after a performance like that

I mean... the only plater that can hold their head up today is Donnakebab

Ake is so poor. I actually thought he was at fault for setting the early tone for keep putting the ball out of play on the sideline

Well that has set me up for an awful weekend.

Pretty awful stuff from the team, no seeming desire to attack and score.

Donnarumna the exception today.

If it wasn't for Donnarumma and some very marginal offsides I dare to think what the score would be.

I can't wait until Howard Webb and his band of merry bandits explain how studs up straight through the opponents knee is a yellow and not a red, with no need for VAR to send the referee to the TV monitor.

That was the most pathetic derby performances I've ever witnessed from
city. Zero passion, incredibly arrogant team selection, shite high line defensive tactics.

The players and Pep need to take a long hard look at themselves.

That was one of the worst performances that I have ever seen from a City team. We offered absolutely no threat and were wide open at the back.

Today's loss was well deserved! No fight from start to finish.  :'(

What team selection would you have had?
Title: Re: At the sty
Post by: Hesperus on January 17, 2026, 14:41:17
O'Reily 100% should have started. I'd have started Reinjders too.

Kush at RB, O'Reily LB, Allyene and Ake at CB.

I know we have injuries but that starting defence was a bad pick.

Yes, given our options i woukd ha e done that back 4 too.

Rico at RB raised my eyebrows... ever since that Real Madrid match where he got destroyed, he shouldn't play RB again.

Who'd have thought we'd miss Nunes...

What is also noticed was that Silva and Rodri were both very deep. With Doku, Semenyo and Foden very high or wide. This meant we had no bridge in the middle and gave Bruno far too much space.

Also, same old thing from last year, we couldn't cope with a counter. To me, only Khus seemed like he had any pace or determination.

I would have liked to have seen him attack that ball for the 2nd goal; but that's Rico's error for letting him get in front.

Attacking wise.  Too slow. Too willing to pass back and attack the full backs.

The movement was terrible Too. Far too static.

How annoying we're not taking advantage of Arsenal's bad patch
Title: Re: At the sty

They might regret not taking more advantage of our bad patch but I doubt it now. That was the most dispiriting performance for quite some time. There is a lot of attention on the defence and rightly so to some extent but we were completely toothless up front too.
