If reports are correct he is currently on his way to Manchester for a weekend medical and signing shortly thereafter. £50.4m
Wow what a good summer transfer window it has been, we now have real strenght in depth.
Kevin De Bruyne signing story link (http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/9959569/manchester-city-have-reportedly-agreed-a-163504m-fee-for-kevin-de-bruyne)
If it doesn't happen this weekend then fook it!!!!
He's expected to sign on Monday Steve!! Have mercy!
Fookin pig is going mad now Durk !!!!!
Ok Stephen give him a chance, if he does not sign by Tuesday, September 1, at 6pm then call it over.
Lets hope he has been worth all this waiting.
Ludicrous price yet again.
Have you ever posted anything positive mate, or is the world you live in generally dark and depressing?

Ludicrous price yet again.
Only if you want to think that. We do not need to worry about the finances the club hierarchy are experts at that. We just need to worry about how much our team will be improved by the top class players brought in. Imagine life if we did not have Abu Dhabi investment, no Silva, Aguero, Kompany, Toure.......No chance - we would at best be Newcastle.
CL & PL money has rocketed and it follows that players transfer fees also skyrocket. Unfortunately no matter how you look at it ultimately we fans pay.
A much strengthened squad should result in a much stronger CL performance and that is what really matters for the club hierarchy and fans. We City fans have the luxury now that we do not need to worry about the money side of things.
It was a ludicrous price when we paid £1 million for Trevor Francis. It is all ludicrous money and has been for years in football. Such a shame on society that sportsmen are so highly valued compared to other professions. Nowt we can do about it really though is there when the general public still sees fit to vote in the Tory party.
Given that, I just hope he turns out to be a bloody good City player.
if he replaces navas then im all for it
more likely the end of nasri

Any chance you can to have a dig at the tories... Not as if labour did anything in the decade they were in power ;)
Well we did get the minimum wage which the tories fought tooth and nail to prevent. But I was just using their re-election as an indication of how people don't give a fuck about the ludicrous inequalities in society which are so perfectly displayed by the value put on footballers rather than comparing party political competence.
Anyway, this has little to do with De Bruyne, which was my other point. Footballers are not to blame and his fee is just the latest in a very, very long list. 50 million or 5 million - it is still bloody ludicrous. I just focus on whether they win trophies for City.

That's history! and New labour were shit, but it's all about who's in now for whom only 26% of the total population voted
Shouldn't do politics on here really and I apologise for it
Let's just get players in and strengthen (in DeBruyne's case) the attack
Just need a midfielder and a full back now..

It's just the north south divide 8)
Though my old man's from Manchester and the Tories actually took him off the streets and made him; not wealthy, but out of poverty.
When I was born (winter) they were burning their furniture in a bin just to keep us warm!
And that's all done, no more politics :)
Whatever the fee, just looking forward to seeing him play.
Teams will no longer just mark Silva out of the game, they'll have to mark 4 quality players across the top with an eye on Yaya and the others arriving late.
Good times and I'm actually looking forward to the Champs league this year: Awaits group of death!
Sorry for pointing out the obvious, it's not being negative when it's fact. But I am EXTREMELY unhappy with city's transfer policy. I see other clubs buying players all the time and it's rarely the same amount. They also manage to sell for a good price. But city transfer policy seems to be much alike when they first started with Hughes. You would think things would improve and that other clubs would be unable to hold city ransom.
Even if the club has unlimited cash and does not have to worry about the rules as much, it doesn't mean the money should sit so loose. Just look at the attitude in here, I just want to see him play, I don't care what it costs, pay whatever. What the fuck is happening? Integrity is dead yeah. It's hard to believe this is a city forum when I read things like that.

I have followed City for over 50 years. I loved Summerbee, Bell & Lee. I loved City winning things. I hated the lean times, the hard times, the painful times, the third tier of English football, the pain and then elation of the play-off final. I hated the taunts of Utd fans and watching them collect honour after honour. They were mega successful, we were mega unsuccessful. Why? They had money we had debts. Money talks and buys you the best, which brings success.
I cannot think of any reason I should regret City having money, buying the best and enjoying success. Wake up TT to the real world you need money to be sucessful, look at the PL table it is no coincidence the richest are top the poorest bottom of the table.

I believe nearly everyone could do a better job than Burgerstain, what a numpty. But, unless you have your blue goggles on, we have little to offer except cash and the hope of European success. Yes, we will be fighting for the league, but any player we look to sign would be in that bracket and going to that type of club. Its a very limited pool of players we are now looking at. KDB and Otamendi were top players in their positions in their leagues last year. Wolfsburg are rumoured to have put £150,000 a week on the table for KDB to stay. They dont need to sell.
Otamndis agent is Mendes, who screws us every time. But what choice do we have?
I am unsure we will ever be the type of draw for players like Barca or Real Madrid. We still wont have the weather or other things players/WAGs from especially Southern Europe/South America want and never will. Only money will talk.
In ten years with continuing success, we may be more of a catch.
WE're a buying cub and therefore it's a sellers market.
The other clubs know they can hold out for a bit more cash: Simple economics really!

maybe the sheik should have bought Torquay United, English Riviera, Palm trees and all that :D
wonder if the hope is as the youth come through & make progress some will be sold for a few £££££££££££££s?
All done according to Bild http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/de-bruyne-kevin/zu-manchester-city-42341390.bild.html (http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/de-bruyne-kevin/zu-manchester-city-42341390.bild.html)
Eighty million euros - a snip.
Yes this time I am confident the signing will be confirmed. A good signing but what a price, the Belgian fans rate him even more highly than Hazard, that is some praise.
about bleeding time
fook how much he costs..as long as he replaces navas he's worth every stinking penny 8)
One way City could fit in De Bruyne, that would please Lee.

Silva in the middle
This is getting out of hand, absolutely pathetic if the price is true. Shocking attitude in here. I guess that's what money and success does.
Shocking, pathetic? Or great news, we've signed the Bundesligas player of the year?
It got out of hand decades ago. Nothing particularly shocking about this deal. There's been bigger.
Just looking forward to seeing him playing now. Shame Navas can't finish because he would be bloody good if he could.
Go back to supporting the rags!
A good investment and a clear message sent out that we mean business

"This is getting out of hand"?! Really? Do you know your football history? Do you think no one thought the same thing when the rags parted with what was, back in 2002, an obscene amount of money for a
defender!? Do you not think some bloke with big whiskers and a stove pipe hat back in about 1875 also thought things were "getting out of hand" when supposedly strictly amateur English clubs began handing out secret wads of cash to professional players (who's presence on their books they then tired to hide in all sorts of inventive ways?)
For goodness sake - ever since the 1870 - 80's,
professional football has always been about MONEY, and those clubs lucky enough to have the most money generally got the best players and won the most trophies. It's a simple equation and it's always been that way. Nothing has changed in over a hundred years - only the size of the amounts involved, and that's just inflation.
Ah well... you're not the only one with an overly romanticised view of what professional football actually is (no matter which team you support). Your naivety is arguably more "shocking" than our "attitude".
It's clearly on the wind up or American or a Rag or probably all three.
It's Citopest isn't it?
The guy who told us he was a rag, but turncoated!
Citopest is Zabba
Whihc ex rag is Trev then unless it's one of Cito's alter ego's!?
Its the market rate for top top players (and I dont want the rags to get him) and if we want to be a world force we need these type of players
How much was Bale, Suarez, Neymar etc ?
I hope we buy Pogba as well for 60 million
Well Nasri did say two more to come in on motd and one of them must be KDB may be the other ia Pogba

Perhaps it's that Todd ming
“He’s had an astonishing, astonishing offer from City and we can’t compete with that. I would prefer to keep him, not to get the money. But the money now is really the issue because Kevin was qualified with Wolfsburg for the Champions League and he was a key player and took the next step.â€
perhaps we'll really need him now in the "group of death"

anyway, Has KDB signed?
No tomorrow reports now sat but its been tomorrow for weeks now.
So, apparently 70 million Euro, which is around 50.8 Gbp
Wonder how much the Premier League's player of the season last year would cost if he was in a long contract and the selling club didn't need to sell? Just asking.
having his medical today
Done:

So we've spent 50 odd million on Tin Tin.
Tin tin always wins in the end
The good news is that City have finally discovered (and announced) that we have bought DeBruyne, Pellegrini will think he is on loan to us no doubt.
If city paid 50.4 million that's a whole 8 million less than the press were saying,Cant Wait for (the Special needs one)MoaningHo to start his bitching again about city trying to buy the title Didn't Moanin Ho sell him for less than 20 million ?
its 58 if he does certain things
Thank christ its over. Hopefully a class player for many years to come and every trophy will be a poke in the eye to Mourinho so all the better.
and dusted
I never got a text of city.
Belgium had some great players, but a shit clueless manager. Could have gone far. Only good thing is that the rest of the world did not get to see too much of Kev. Then the rumours about Real Madrid sniffing round might have come true.
The Belgium medical staff were not happy with his fitness :-\
http://www.espn.co.uk/football/belgium/story/2908383/belgium-doctor-laments-injuries-kevin-de-bruyne-never-reached-his-best (http://www.espn.co.uk/football/belgium/story/2908383/belgium-doctor-laments-injuries-kevin-de-bruyne-never-reached-his-best)
Would take a world record bid from Real to prize kev away. If Pogba is "worth" E100m+, then so is Kev.
Not surprised Belgium are having a dig, City n them have had a few run ins with fitness issues over the past two years. Namely with Vinny.
TBF, i'd question the fitness staff at city too. Feckin rediculous the amount of injuries we've had this season
Kev's injury was down to bad luck though but perhaps our need to get him back quickly didn't do him any favours regarding the Euro's
F*ck Belgium, these guys are paid by City to play for City. It took the piss the way they played Vinny against orders and Vinny was daft to do it. Of course it has turned out now that he's an injury waiting to happen but it was still stupid and selfish.
