Title: Fouls
Post by: Paddy on May 20, 2017, 09:04:17
Wouldn't it be a good idea if, when a player is injured due to being fouled and has to leave the pitch, that the player responsible should also be sent off until the injured player was fit to return or substituted

I think it has become farcical enough already. We had a player off after being injured not so long ago and the opposition made a sub that took 3 or 4 minutes, after he'd got up, and the ref still restarted with our player off the pitch! Ridiculous.

If a player has tried to deliberately injure another player or been reckless in the tackle then he should be sent off.  If the injury was an accident then your suggestion would lead to two players being off the pitch unjustly.

We need players to be more honest in every way really. Stop diving so much and stop the cynical fouls. To do that proper action needs to be made to punish offenders. Making players go off for a minute or two just makes the game a farce.
