Title: Ref's
Post by: Paddy on December 04, 2017, 23:58:50
We scorn them, we curse them, we blame them for everything that goes wrong in a game; but only if it goes against our team; enough said; give them a break....

I see better refereeing in the Championship in general, I think because they are not under such Sky Sports minute petty scrutiny (searching in detail every incident to create a controversy/talking point for their pundits and therefore the apply a common-sense approach to refereeing games.

Last night a Wolves player head-butted (brushed head) a Birmingham player, referee calm and collected sent the rabble around him away, talked to the two players and then sensibly issued a yellow card to the offender.

That said refereeing is a job and just like all jobs should be open to reasonable criticism and accountability, especially when they seem to think they are the star of the show, not the game.

Agree no refs no game , actually think overall the standard is better this season so far.
Mostly because their ego is in the background unlike some refs in the past who started thinking they had celebritity status
Appreciate they or their assistant only see the event once whereas rest of us see replays several times.
