Man Utd and long time Man City target Fred is reported widely to have said yes to City and the deal is apparently set to be officially announced when the summer transfer window opens.

MANCHESTER UNITED target Fred will sign for Manchester City as the Etihad club agree a deal in principle for the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder.
There was much speculation throughout January that Fred would be moving to the Premier League and now his fate looks to be sealed as league leaders City have agreed a £44.5m deal, according to Goal.

City had stepped up their efforts to land the Brazilian last month after an injury crisis had hit their squad, but Shakhtar held their resolve and managed to hold onto the player, at least for the time being.

United have also been interested in the 24-year-old and were supposedly in contact with the Ukrainian club but have been unable to strike a deal, leaving the door open for their Pep Guardiola’s side.

City are looking to exact a spot of revenge by pipping their rivals to the signing of the Brazilian after United nabbed Alexis Sanchez from underneath their noses last month

We definitely need a back up for Fernandinho, with Yaya too old to do the job.

Yaya was never that good at the job in the first place (if we're talking defensive midfield duties here)

Really need a DM back up and eventual replacement for Dinho, time is not on Dinhos side. Did Sanchez agree in principle to come to us?
