I didn't think he was that bad, odd bad joke aside. Not worth that kind of money though but footballers aren't worth their money.

I especially liked the story about Chiles once taking the piss out of Martin O'Neil in the studio. Something about O'Neil's nerdy glasses and implying he was a bit of a wimp".
This raised a smile with the other panellists, Patrick Vieira and Fabio Cannavaro, but O'Neil didn't see the 'joke' at all - icily reminding Chiles that he'd never played the game and asking Vieira and Cannavaro how many European Cups they had won... (answer - none. O''Neil has won two).
Vieira later tweeted that O'Neil was so furious he thought he was back in the tunnel with Roy Keane again! :D
Maybe what passed for Childes quirky sense of humour wasn't really suited to this type of work.
