Title: A trip down memory lane to Typical City
Post by: gavin on March 04, 2019, 21:21:36
From the BBC Site (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47434577)

QuoteKevin Keegan's Manchester City were the first to prevent their opponents from shooting when they played West Brom in 2004, although Bryan Robson's side somehow escaped with a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Richard Dunne own goal.

Only old City could have done that...

Top bloke Dunnie. Love his explanation of why he scored so many own goals. He said that he never wanted to pull out of trying a clearance in fear of scoring an own goal. He'd sooner score an own goal or two to make an occasional clearance. Quite right too - if you're going to concede anyway better to take the risk. Legend.
