What an effort it had been to get to mid April and still be in every senior competition we've entered. Whatever happens on Wednesday you have to applaud the efforts of the players this season. We have the capability to go all the way but even if we don't it has been an incredible season. Other teams don't even try to do it. Shame on them for not having the backbone and pride that our lads show in every single game.
Agree - to a point. They need to see it through with the league or chumps league, preferably both. D Silva looks like he is on the downward slope, Kompany as well. They will want to bow out with serious silverware. I believe we have the best squad and team, we should be competing on all fronts.
A massive achievement to be in this position and a big thank you to the management, players and staff for a tremendous season.
As Neil says teams are judged on trophies won and a cup double is a wonderful achievement However, if Liverpool were to do a PL CL double then our achievement this season would be massively overshadowed. Even if they won the PL and lost in the final of the CL most fans would consider they had a better season than us.
So now is the time for City to deliver in either or both CL and PL.
Let’s make a great season a historical season, put the icing on the cake and maybe even a cherry.
