United release latest figures

Manchester United have reported a 12.2% drop in revenue to £194.4m from £221.4m for the six months to the end of 2014.
The club's gross debt is up 6.7% to £380.5m from £356.6m.

Had they not spent £200m they would only be £135m in debt and prob debt free in 2 years saving millions a year paying it off.

So they dropped £27mil in revenue and increased £24mil in debt for only 6 months of the year. Won't be til year end that we know what dropping out of the Chumps league has cost them... You could also say that they were pretty much breaking even with the way they were spending before (dependant on transfer business). Who did they buy in Jan?
