Title: Laporte
Post by: KunDB on September 01, 2019, 10:34:13
He has been an absolute rock in defender and we will miss him if he is out for a protracted spell.

Should that transpire, I hope we finally give some of the academy prospects a chance. Without the heat of the battle they cannot develop fully.

KDB missed lot of last season, we did not so bad. Time for Stones to step up.

Fernandinho did a great job yesterday and there's also Eric Garcia who looks very promising. Laporte has been great but I'm fairly confident we can cope in the short to medium term.

Looks like he could be out for a prolonged period.

I thought before the season it was a risk not reinforcing the CB position with Kompany leaving and Stone being a bit “Iffy” last season. It’s fine margins in the CL and PL, hopefully this won’t won’t come back to bite us.

He's had an op in Barcelona. No specifics on length of time but doesn't look a quick one.
