Title: City V Villa
Post by: 93:2012 on April 25, 2015, 16:53:05
Two more wins should probably be enough, now Liverpool have drawn today, to secure a top 4 finish and Champion League next season. 3 wins and it is guaranteed.

Starters

Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernando, Lampard, Navas, Yaya Toure, Silva, Aguero

Subs

Caballero, Sagna, Boyata, Fernandinho, Nasri, Dzeko, Bony

Lets get one win today and keep all calm. C'mon City

Win, lose or draw we are riddled with weaknesses.

Midfield lacks bite and steel.

Defence is weak, even our best defender is too old and slow.

We have got worse under Pellegrini without a shadow of doubt. If I was him I would be worried.

Yer, not deserving to be in the lead but could have had two. Central mid still a problem

Awful game again. I can't wait for the season to be finished and see some much needed changes.

Lampard and Fernando are anonymous and Yaya's spent more time on his arse than on the ball.

Where the fuck has last years Fernandinho gone?

Too many sub standard performances which is in large part why we lose control of games we should be cruising through.

Joe will get the blame for that, poor decision to come for it. But it was offside and two of our defenders could have cleared it. Poor all round

Once again we give away a needless goal when comfortable and playing well, and collapse in a great heap having to hang on desperately when we should be comfortable. We just have zero confidence and belief presently.

That's the least of our worries. A defensive coach and a new central mid should be top.

Yep and his distribution is still hit and miss. But he's still a "young" keeper with potential. A great coach should be able to straighten him out

If Hart wasnt English, he might be in fear of being replaced. As it is he is secure in his place.

A poor performance, we in no way look like a top four side. Pelle is a dead man walking. Burgrstain must follow him. Bin off Burgerstain before we sign another lot of overpaid non performers over the summer.

Kolarov played well, he is rumoured to be one of those to be shipped out? Cant see him wanting to stay in anycase if Dzeko and Jovetic go.

but this is all shit he should already know, any coach should be able to say watch where you are kicking it joe and and if you are going to come out dont do it like a twot

We are playing shit and have been for most of the season.
That said we are the PL top scorers with 70 goals. We have fallen down in defence, no surprise that, as there are 4 teams who have conceded less than us, and Liverpool have conceded the same number of goals as us, not impressive.

We just do not know how to win games and defend deep when needed, hitting on the break.

Too many players just going through the motions and poor tactics.

Pelle will be a miracle worker if he survives the season end review.

There's a hell of a lot that needs sorting but it is three points in the bag. At the moment we just want to keep winning until the summer then there has to be big changes.

In some ways I was relieved it became a competitive game because it was fucking boring for the first hour or so.
Title: Re: City V Villa
Post by: KunDB on April 25, 2015, 22:48:19
If only, we could be 'outstanding' like Liverpool were today, according to Brendan Rodgers, in defeat and not scoring mind instead of being awful, only scoring 3 and winning all 3 points.

hubby wants to know (he's only come to support City last 5 years, don't ask!  ::) ) why is it regardless of how much money is spent , that it's totally different players, managers, City's  playing style doesn't change? Er blame the tea lady ? Seems to be the ethos of the place?
Still reeling from the fact City scored last goal from a corner!!! :o

Think back to some typical City wins from the past and you'll get the picture - get a two goal lead via an opposition howler and a good free kick and then contrive to throw the game away in the last 20 mins or so and scramble a late winner. About as unconvincing as it gets.

As goat has already mentioned, Hart's two biggest flaws - judgement on crosses and distribution - have been there since he first arrived at the club and I think it's fair to say they're not likely to improve now. I didn't like his post-match comment that "sometimes you come out and just don't get there" - nope, that's an error of judgement, it doesn't happen by chance and for the first goal he was yards away from getting the ball and ended up in no man's land.

I was pleased for him when he scored as one bloke near me did nothing but slag him off for the whole game, at least he had to shut up a bit when Kolarov scored.

Ta Brendan...

I've always thought Kolarov was an important member of the squad. I know he has his faults defensively, but  he's one of our more positive, attack minded players - and he does deliver. Better than Clichy in many departments.

A good three points but a very unconvincing performance. Villa had more possession than we did which is unthinkable really.  Pellegrini reckons we've got our confidence back! Who is he trying to kid!

The guy I sit next to reckons he's heard Viera will take over next season or sooner if results go down hill.
