Title: Fixtures released on Thursday

I still cannot get over the break for the World Cup. It is crazy. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see which weekends the tough games against Liverpool, Tottenham and others will be and then there's the derby walkovers to look forward to.

Still hard to believe that we will be going for our third title on the trot and fifth out of six.

The fixtures have potential to provide a big advantage to some teams over others given the World Cup break.

A difficult first match at West Ham but after that we should be able to make a good start.

I remember last season we lost our first game to Spurs, and according to the pundits we were all washed up for the season. Chelsea's the new kings.

I thought the champions were at home first game or do they have the choice?

Don't think so but it does seem a bit harsh not be at home first game, last game, boxing day or the new years bank holiday.

It is an important charity of a friend of Peps

QuoteThe City manager, Pep Guardiola, attended Monday's press conference at his former club to announce the fixture alongside the Barcelona president, Joan Laporta. They were joined by the club's former goalkeeper and coach, Juan Carlos Unzué, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) two years ago. All proceeds from the game will go to Fundación Luzón, an ALS research charity.

We don't have a big list of friendlies but it is odd timing.
