You would be surprised how many do.

Home brew has moved on a lot since the day when my old man used to make shite tasting beer in the airing cupboard, its now a very popular hobby and its not all about saving money though obviously you can and a lot of it,  its more about the different beers you can make  and how good the beer (wine, cider) tastes.

I gave up drinking years ago. I definitely wouldn't have had the patience to brew my own in any case. I did grow some grass once and that got caned before it was really ready but that was the fault of my house mate. Still got a bit of a kick off it.
