I wonder how many of these will get near the first team. In Pellegrini's interview this week he was miserably lamenting that he had to have a couple of youth players on the bench for the Chumps. There was no indication at all that he ever had any intention of bringing them on or that they had any chance of making it. He was just moaning that they had to be there.

Dunno but you would think he would at least attempt to feign a bit more enthusiasm for the kids he includes whether it be by choice or not. It seemed pretty clear that he would rather they weren't there and that he'd been allowed to buy in another couple of players.

considering some of the kids are meant to be special it would be handy if they did more than just watch

that pozo could go the way of guidetti

Pozo should have started he Newcastle League Cup game instead of Silva, we're still paying for that piece of team selection.

well it may cost him his job as it's pretty obvious the academy is a big investment to the club owners.

Other than the blatantly obvious, money, this is a massive disincentive to really good young players coming to our club.

It also kicks the holistic approach stuff in the balls.

My advice to any young talented aspiring footballer would be best they learn their trade elsewhere, if they want a chance to develop and eventually extend their learning in the first team.

had the idea a while back to just "rent" other clubs youth systems

give clubs like boca, ajax, udinese  etc a yearly fee and get first refusal on any players the club fancy. could send our kids there to get proper coaching an all
