I expected us to be a bit more defensive but so long as Yaya puts a bit of effort in.......

We aren't making much progress. We give the ball away far too much and don't create enough. We need different ideas.

Not enough tempo going forward, as usual.

Pelle plan B take Aguero and Silva off and put on Bony & Navas. OMG

Everything down the right, De Bruyne really putting a shift in in attack and protecting the full back. Centre of midfield as expected, disappointing. Kun is still looking short of full fitness. Sterling largely uninvolved, yet. All to play for.

I lost count of the amount of times Dave gave it away, which is unusual for him.
And Sterling keeps giving it away in promising positions.
Yaya dropping into CB at the end was weird too.

Henry (Pundit) picking us apart... can we get him on board as an attacking coach!

If we play from now to next Christmas we won't look like scoring.

Toure virtually no contribution, then scores. Great strike.

1 1 might yet be won, but Pelle is still clueless.

Thank christ for that. Another disappointing performance overall but at the moment any away victory is welcome.

Sky Sports quoting 75% passing accuracy, not good enough!

It was a lot more enjoyable on MOTD. Otamendi and Mangala are an enormous concern but the goals were simply delightful and it makes it a lot easier when you know they are coming!!!

I still feel more comfortable with Ota in the back four than Mangala.

He's got an eye for a pass and that Ighalo fake and turn would have left a fair few CB's on their arses.
Though he did get nutmegged aswell!

Yes, easily the worst part of our game. Too many under hit, over hit, or misdirected passes. Basic building block of the game missing - and Watford showed us how to do it for long periods. We were sluggish as well - not enough effort to help out team mates (especially in the first half), but this has been increasingly our style of play recently. We still seem to have this dangerous attitude that we are 'good enough' to do just enough and still get the points.

It worked this time... we had just that extra bit of quality. Kolarov's corner - Yaya's almost nonchalant finish; Sagna's cross and Aguero's beautiful leap. Two great goals in an otherwise lacklustre performance. We got away with it.

Spot on. Just nowhere near good enough even allowing for the number of games we have had to play. Complacency as the norm. The City players came out for the second half as if the game was already won (No Pelle hairdryer obviously)!

The most annoying thing yesterday was that it took us to go 1-0 down before we found any intensity in our game.

I know Yaya scored a belter and came close earlier in the match but he's less than useless in a defensive role especially away from home were it's an absolute necessity.

Pelle made a good tactical decision yesterday bringing Bony on and going two up front. We then started to play and as we know we won.

The celebration for the winner was one of the best for a long time.

Perhaps a win like this could start something. We now unbeaten in 3, is that classed as a run in this league?

Sterling gets a lot of stick from away fans and the media. I also think referees do not protect him or at the very least are harsh on him when it comes to some of the challenges on him. Several times yesterday he was pushed or grabbed by the defender and nothing is given, then we get everyone booing him or calling him lightweight/soft whatever.

The lad needs our backing more

This happens far too often, and it's not just limited to this season either.

It's a feature of the "we are 'good enough' to do just enough and still get the points" attitude that I mentioned earlier. We come out for a lot of these games in cruise mode, expecting a couple of moments of brilliance will secure the win and we can just potter along until that happens - but then the opposition go off script and score! Suddenly we have to roll up our sleeves and put a shift in.
