Ederson; Lewis, Simpson-Pusey, Akanji, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Bernardo (C), Foden; Savinho, Haaland, Nunes.

Substitutes: Ortega, Carson, Walker, Ake, Wilson-Esbrand, Wright, O'Reilly, Gundogan, De Bruyne, McAtee, Doku.

Young lad gets a go at centre half. No centre half on bench but he could have played Walker or Gvardiol there so he must have faith. Good luck to the lad.

We played a lot better in the first half than we have been doing of late. But being wasteful up front and dodgy at the back is all too familiar unfortunately.

Game over 3 mins into the 2nd half! Wtf!

We have no defence against pace and we just are not sharp enough in front of goal (too often talking to long to create a chance that could have been created 10+ passes earlier).

No complaints but it's football and this team has served us well in recent years.

The positive news I think is this will give the team a massive reality check.

The stupidity of the penalties given away is astounding. Just cannot believe we would give penalties away so easily and unnecessarily.

Anyone looking forward to the Brighton game this weekend??

Yes

Brighton players

Three defeats on the trot. The fortunate thing is that they are in three different competitions. Out of the Carabao, which is not a disaster. But still well in the League and the Champions League. We need to start winning again though and it is true that a trip to Brighton probably isn't where we want to go.

disappointing result but we will bounce back

Pep said we played well. That's true, in parts but not for 90 minutes which is what is needed.

I just do not feel that our midfield heels together well. Having said that, most years early season I feel that way and Pep and his team prove me wrong when it matters most.

We've had good results this season in the league for sure but our performance have not been great either. Somewhat fortunate in some games. This is now a bad run. Injuries are not helping but the player recruitment imo has been poor over the last couple of years. We've bought bang average players and it's showing.

everybody writing us of now which is good  :D

We're a couple of points behind a Liverpool side who have a new manager. They are bound to have a dodgy period yet. But we can only get stronger from here.
