Ortega Moreno, Nunes, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol, Kovacic, De Bruyne (C), Bernardo, Savinho, Foden, Haaland.

Subs: Ederson, Grealish, Doku, Gundogan, Simpson-Pusey, Mubama, O'Reilly, Lewis, McAtee

Nunes at the back again?!

gavin

Nunes has all the physical attributes to be a top, top player. Unfortunately, then you come to his brain. His head goes far too often.

Not a great half from City. Pretty even really. If anything they had the better chances. But City had more of the game.

Hesperus

Pity we didn't sign some of these defenders before the game!

Jeez. Can't hold onto a 2 goal lead for 15 mins. Poor again and that will hit confidence once more.

gavin

They had chances all night so it wasn't that surprising really. We are absolutely piss poor at the back. Savinho had a good night in many ways but too greedy. There are too many buts for the players that we have bought in recent seasons. Gundo was a legend but his legs have gone.

Our defence had been weak all season, even last season, and that weakness has caught up with us. Opponents know this and exploit it.

All we had to do was put pressure on the player who was clearly and blatantly obviously going to cross the ball into the middle and we stood back and watched. Pathetic. That was not the first time, as it happened multiple times in the game, just that we got away with it the other time by pure luck.

Cannot wait until we sort out our defence in the summer transfer window, and for Dias to return.

Also, very wasteful up front tonight.

Vickki

We were lucky to get the draw.

I think a draw was fair Vik, considering we had decent chances, but fluffed lines.

Sav had a decent match again, but he was the player that half arsed getting over to stop the cross for the equaliser.

95 mins means 95 mins.

Not that I'm questioning Pep, but Haaland looked strung out by the 60th (thought his link up play was some of his best hes done for us) and I'd have liked to have seen a 24 year old stay on instead of a midfield 3 all past 30...

Frustrating tonight.

That was our big chance to close the gap

Agree. But I will question Pep. I think his subs have been poor this season.

We should be able to see out a 2 goal lead for 15 mins. A good team can do that. As soon as it went to 2-1 you could see the confidence drain.

It was a good game but I think we played well bar the last 20 mins. 2-0 would have been a deserved result. We missed some big chances too.

gavin

We missed some big chances but so did they. We don't look right at all at the back. From the very start, Pep's approach has been to defend through keeping the ball. At 2-1, we actually did a very good job of that until the equaliser. But when we do lose the ball and get broken on, it is almost always a major chance for the opposition. The percentage has to be lower.

Walker has gone, both his legs and his heart now it seems but there is no doubt that his pace helped a lot over the years. It is interesting that he is playing Nunes now at full back. I think mostly because of his pace. So far it is not paying off but it is only a few games so far.
