Me too. I think they're touring again though...

Im not a fan of the stone roses

Swiss

Catchy riffs though.

But lazy lyrics

Rowley Birkin QC

Wasn't it one of the Stone Roses who once said "...there was more chance of Man City winning the European Cup than the Stone Roses ever reforming".

Well... they've reformed...

Now he is doing some shows as the frontman of AC/DC. I guess they needed to appeal to the youth market  :D

BongoBlue

The best part is that Manuel Pelligrini is now part of the band. Nice hair straightening job Manuel...:

;D

jesus, how far behind the musical world are you down there?

other than nick  cave what have you given the rest of us eh?

shandon

Kylie  :)
Australia had some good bands in the 80s. Not so much now.

goat

kylie is half welsh, shes ours

you can keep dannii

shandon

I think they both have lived overseas for long periods. I'm not sure which singing contest Dannii is judging on this week.

goat

We had some good rock bands before like Midnight Oil, Crowded House, Silverchair, Hunters and Collectors and Hodoo Gurus.

goat

silverchair were fucking awful, aussie grunge  :D

thought the crowded house lot were kiwis, you trying to claim them like you did  our  kylie?

shandon

Silverchair evolved from their first album when people said they just copied Pearl Jam.
2 of the main members on Crowded House were Australians. We think of them as our own - like Russell Crowe!

goat

not rushing to claim kenny as yours yet then eh

Rowley Birkin QC

We're always stealing NZ bands...

Spiderbait are OK.

Rowley Birkin QC

We're working on getting 90s uk boybands now with Ronan Keating here and some guy who used to be in Westlife has been hanging around.

If you wanted popular bands then you would have Inxs  :-[
Mental as anything were good too if you have heard of them?

goat

see, if  it wasnt for all the animals trying to kill everyone and mad max wasnt a true story people would tour the place

forgot inxs were a thing

goat

just checked to see if ex mrs has toured oz ( she has)
found this http://www.australiansabroad.com/sweden/youknow.html

Rowley Birkin QC

Always loathed INXS...

Most of the touring bands never get past Wolf's Creek for some reason.

Rowley Birkin QC

This is probably scarier than Wolf's Creek -

In a happy ending way?

reddishblue

Listened to it twice. Tried a 3rd time and sacked it after about 30 seconds. Tedious lazy shite.

I had an Aussie roommate (room moite) in Saudi who introduced me to a whole slew of Aussie bands.
Hoodoo Gurus were a good band as were Hunters and Collectors.
Australian Crawl were pretty good too. Richard Clapton and James Reyne weren't bad. (All back in the day though.) Like Jet too.

I got him back though. I fed him a steady dose of Irish music: early U2, Lizzy, Horslips, Rory Gallagher, Pogues etc.

That'll feckin teach him.  ;)

goat

another band made a bit of a comeback, shits all over the roses dirge

This was a feckin great choon. Pity the rest of the album absolutely sucked - to use some yankee-terminologee...:
