There is something really mysterious about that. A hidden reason, perhaps it’s to do with a looming transfer ban or a loan out to a sister team or something.

No sane person would extend his contract as a City player.

Pep was quite happily talking about buying a few players in the summer in his presser yesterday. Very doubtful any ban would take effect this summer with the speed these things happen - especially with any appeals.

Have to admit that I'm struggling to understand the new contract though.
