City v Magpies match thread
« on: January 29, 2019, 19:02:43 »
CITY XI | Ederson, Walker, Danilo, Stones, Laporte, Fernandinho, Silva (C), De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane, Aguero

SUBS | Muric, Gündogan, Bernardo, Mahrez, Otamendi, Jesus, Foden

Need a win tonight to put pressure on Liverpool tomorrow night. Not an easy task when its your fourth game in ten days. That is a strong team so a win is on the cards.

C'mon City.

Yeh, a lot of garbage after a great start. Harsh booking indeed for KDB.

Yes, it has been a bit too sloppy.  Very noticeable how Newcastle are playing quite a high line while we have the ball - trying to squeeze us into making an error in the middle of their half. Working for them quite well at the moment (thanks to our sloppiness). If we CAN get in behind them the goals will come.

Games like these are where titles are won and lost.

Apparently we’ve dropped 8 points against teams outside the top six this season. Liverpool have dropped zero.

It was a stupid pass by Danilo back into the danger area to Fernandinho who was straight under pressure.

Pretty woeful performance that. Can’t see the dippers losing three games, so that’s us done I reckon.

Our back line was woeful tonight. Too many errors - and when they were finally asked to defend something dangerous they looked totally inept. Not enough drive and tempo going forward either. Credit to Newcastle's defending, but aside from that we gifted them that win.

It all went pear shaped when DeBruyne disobeyed the ref, don't think Pep should have brought him off. Passing was unbelievable and their wasn't one player that didn't get in possession. I think any chance we had of overhauling Liverpool disappeared tonight

It was a flat performance, if the dippers win tomorrow night then it will be difficult to pull back the 7 points but we still have time and a lot of points to play for. Its a good kick in the arse to wake them up.

Its been like Pep's first season far too often this season. Profligate up front and prone to concede from every opposition attack. Must not be too depressed at being second in the table though.

Liverpool fail to take full advantage and looked like rabbits in the car headlights tonight. Draw

Need to step up this weekend, big match, cannot afford to have a repeat performance. We were let off the hook slightly tonight. KunDB, glad we were finally able to concur !!!.
