Defence starting to look poor again, last season revisited.

Decent result wit a very average performance

Hardly poor..Conceded a penalty and bit of mix up for their second

A decent win and an enjoyable match. Foden was decent but harsh indeed for Mahrez not to get Man of the Match.

Conceded a poor penalty and an absolute shambles for their second. Four games now in a row we have conceded and two in a row two conceded.

Your living on another planet of you think the lads wont concede every game.
Other teams will score against City. It's the way the game works.
To says its last season revisited is hilarious!!!

Well Lee it is not as bad as last season but keep on defending this way and it well could be.

Laporte is all over the place which is confusing given how solid he was last season. He is a liability this season near every game with at least one key error per game.

The defending problem is down to lower pressing and work rate by the whole team and very sloppy passing at times recently.

Need solidity and confidence in defence to win Cl and other trophies.

           STORY LINK

Andrew Madley, the VAR official, reviewed on field Referee Jon Moss' call but stood by the on-field decision.

It is understood that the VAR did not feel footage of the incident conclusively proved that McCarthy had not touched the ball and therefore did not ask Moss to review his decision on the pitchside monitor.

Take a BIG RED FACE, so embarrassing. Could not prove a negative (VAR did not feel footage of the incident conclusively proved that McCarthy had not touched the ball).

So the VAR official Andrew Madley was looking for positive proof that the goalie had indeed touched the ball as believed by the on field referee but could not find any touch shown on the video. Therefore, as there was NO VIDEO EVIDENCE supporting the on field referee view he decided he could not overturn referees Jon Moss view, basing his decision on the view it must be the video footage that was lacking.

Clear as mud. So glad they cleared that up, so in future if a referee believes he saw something that simply did not happen in reality and consequently there is no video of this non existent event, VAR will BLAME THE VIDEO as inadequate and inconclusive and uphold the referees decision.

If the pen had been given we would probably have missed it anyway!

Absolutely shocking decision

It is so good to be back with the winning feeling. I was out of kilter for days after Sunday. Just not used to defeat.
