v Rags at OT
« on: November 06, 2021, 11:33:35 »
Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo, Rodrigo, Gundogan (C), Bernardo, De Bruyne, Jesus, Foden

SUBS | Steffen, Carson, Ake, Sterling, Grealish, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Palmer

No Grealish, Mahrez, Sterling

A cautious but great line up.

C’mon City. Let’s stuff them (bunch of highly paid mercenaries) 💰

Can't argue with that selection really. Only a bit of a surprise to see two keepers on the bench. I hope we start the match like we did the first few derbies at the Sty under Pep. We put them in their place in the first few minutes by being all over them. Come on City.

After their humiliation against the Dippers, i feel that they will be supercharged motivated today from the off. We will need a strong start, and to get into possession, passing, play rhythm right from the off whistle. No room for misfiring.

Utd will sit back, defend deep and hit on the break, relying on a bit of Ronaldo magic to win it for them.

We need to win after last week, do not want to fall further behind Chelsea and Liverpool.

I like the team. Understand why Grealish and Mahrez are bench warming, but slightly surprised about Sterling.

Great work by Dias and Stones. Ronaldo was onside waiting for the pass, they both looked over, saw him, and moved forward to play him off. No mention of it by sky sports of course.

2-0 a better reflection on the half after another where you can only complain that we haven't finished off our dominance with goals. More of the same second half with finishing please.

If we had gone in 1 0 it would have been a gross injustice. Bernardo you are pure gold.

I'm usually the first to complain about our finishing, but in fairness De Gea has played a blinder so far.

When Cancelo put that cross in my first thought was "There's nobody there!", but then up pops B Silva, like he appeared out of a trap door!

My only concern is that they've had one chance and very nearly score from it. But that's being very picky.

Gave the ball away too much for ten minutes at the start of the second half but then imperious. United couldn't lay a glove on us.

Rags were just chasing shadows for a lot of the time. A comfortable derby win for us, without playing our best football - but we were still far too good for utd.

I note that the Prancing Pony is still a dirty little fucker. KDB is lucky to still have both legs.

Totally dominated them. Supreme passing today. It was men against boys. Pity we couldn’t have scored a couple more to make the score line reflect the performance.

1  No Penalty even though that was a clear cut foul?
2  Booked Cancelo and Silva having let Utd fouls go all game? Waited until the 89th and a half minute to book a Utd player and only because
he couldn't ignore that nasty Ronaldo challegne on KdB.
3  DeGea thought he had saved the Silva shot and was about to bollock Utd defenders when the look on their face and City players reaction
told him it was behind him in the net. It's behind you David, it's in the net David.
