Looks like we have him.

Not for me.  Too injury prone, too expensive and hate that we're dealing with Mino Raiola.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

Has there been an update somewhere?

gavin

Just the player we need. Young and incredibly talented striker. Who else could we sign that is a better fit? A player like him is going to be bucks these days.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

Bindippers and Rags must have heard about Haaland.

As long as his form or desire dont drop off a cliff, its a no brainer. Will score a shed load of goals. We get him for less than half of his value, in the open market £150 million is not out of the question. He has pace, which outside of Sterling who maybe off, we need in attack. Already being associated with us should mean he settles in very quickly. Only the effect on the wage structure could be a minus. KDB will want a raise.

silvablue

This would be an excellent signing and lift us to a level for sure. That said we need a sharp shooter back up for when he is injured to ensure consistency.

He's gone.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

Yee brown bread. Hope it doesn't affect our Haaland deal.

KunDB

At least we won't have to deal with Mr. Raiola if we get Haaland. RIP to him but he was a venom to team spirit.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

He had a medical yesterday apparently and will be announced by the club this week.

gavin

Pretty much confirmed in Pep's presser. He says he will talk about it when it is fully completed. So it must be very, very near now. Alvarez also on the way means it will be a much different attacking team next season already.

Hesperus

👍👍👍 very happy with this deal if it gets confirmed. Awesome signing.

QuoteManchester City can confirm we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.

The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.

Stephen Paul

Bloody bargain at 60 million

jingoe

A great signing. Grealish must be pleased that he won't have the worst hair cut at the club anymore

gavin

Yes, next signing needs to be a top barber for them two.

Absolute bargain, but depends on the contract clauses. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he had release clauses in his contract that lets him move on at a knock down price, when he chooses to move on.

That said what a signing, just what we need to lift us to a higher level with an improved conversion rate of goal chances.

Neil Mcnab

We get the second most wanted player in the world, cant complain. Lets see if we can get Bellingham as well.

Kilkenny Blue

Lazy journos adding on cost of wages etc!

I take back my previous reservations and it's an absolute bargain.  Alan Shearer:

Rowley Birkin QC

Ticks all the boxes for me. We definitely need a proper striker. With one, this season, I firmly believe we would have wrapped up the Premiership several weeks ago.

Just hold fire and wait, end of next season after we win the PL again and more and Haaland has scored 32 goals Alan Shearer will be saying. Yes it's a lot of goals but he's really fallen short of what he could and should have achieved in this team, he needs to improve and do better next season.

Stephen Paul

Erling Haaland is the only player I have seen easily push Dias of the ball
Exited to say the least

Stephen Paul

With the service from kdb and foden, this guy will be exceptional

Is anyone worried he won't fit in to our system? I think it's being over simplified to: top goal scorer + team creating lots of chances = many goals for said goal scorer. I worry it's over looking the nuanced interplay of our forward players and the potential for disruption of this.

Lukaku being the most recent example of this. Remember Chelsea were going to be unstoppable when in reality they were/are better without Lukaku.

Either way, it will be interesting and he won't lose value.

Also, if someone with the analytical incompetence of Anal Shearer thinks it will work, that cannot be good.

gavin

He won't fit into our system. The system needs to change. No team can play the same season after season. There's been numerous times this season where we have desperately needed something different. He has been bought as a new dimension. City will need to change and so will Haaland. Let's not forget Alvarez too. It is going to be another exciting season.

Tricky Trev

I don't rate him that highly, also very worried about his injury proneness. I do hope I am wrong however, as I am born and raised in the same city as him, and had several interactions with him. Even played against him when he was a wee lad or whatever you guys call it.

It's cool to have a guy from from here succeed and all, but mostly I want it because almost everyone here is moaning and bitching about him choosing city and supposedly the money. Everyone here and basically in all Norway supports the scum or scousers. It's all very tiring and funny when they moan. Entitled spoiled shits, but who cares when it's in Norway  :D

Neil Mcnab

Mbappe has settled for a £100 million signing on fee and a million a game and a say so in club affairs, all to stay at the same club. As far as I can tell Haaland is somewhere around KDB wages. Very reasonable. I expect Haaland can depart to Madrid at some point as one of the terms.  Pep will make a success of it, I am certain and Haaland will improve because of it. Win, win.

gavin

Tebas and La Liga are having a right good skrike about Mbappe. Makes me laugh. They've never minded outbidding other teams themselves.

KunDB

About time too.

gavin

Welcome onboard. Always great to see a City fan achieve his lifes dream of pulling on the shirt.

gavin

I'm already looking forward to the new season. It normally takes more than a month but the early signings of strikers has got me going already. The end to last season helped too of course. Looking forward to the fixtures tomorrow. If Erling is fit all season then we should be truly awesome.

gavin

He's not appeared in the training vid. Not injured already I hope.

Stephen Paul

A very low key signing by all accounts

If he had signed for the rags or dippers it would be front and back page for weeks

gavin

I prefer us to make headlines by being Champions anyway. Not too fussed about having the hype the rags and scousers get.

He did have niggles but hopefully fit for tonight.

gavin

Didn't take him long to get on the scoresheet did it? The bloke is a beast of a man and still growing. If he stays fit then we are going to score a lot of goals this season - even compared to our recent hauls.

reddishblue

Alvarez will be the secret weapon.

Stephen Paul

Neil Mcnab

Alvarez looked sharper, more in tune with how we have been playing. Haaland was just warming up though.

bbk

I still think Alvarez will be the better signing. I can't shake the feeling that Haaland won't bed in and may be deleterious for the likes of KdB, Silva, Foden, etc. if they have to adapt to him. Think Zlatan to Barca. Hey ho, what the feck do I know.

gavin

I thought that on a couple of occasions, he showed that he will add a new dimension to us. He took it down and controlled under challenge and then got a shot off in the first half. Not many strikers would have managed that with the amount of pressure that he was under from the defenders. Once he gets fully fit and on the same wavelength as KDB, he will be hard to stop

reddishblue

We have needed a player for some time who can hold the ball up. If he can score goals too that is a bonus.

Victoria

Although I think  Haaland will score goals, I still think that Alverez will score more and a bigger threat to our opponents whom will mostly concentrating on Haaland due to his reputation.

silvablue

Anyone who doubts Haaland's ability to score should rethink. He has everything a top striker needs to succeed.

It is a joy to see him in the City team and goals will flow.
