Will do

gavin

Ref has already shown his true colours for not booking for that scissor challenge on Kev.

gavin

Decent half from City. More of the same second half please with some deadlier finishing. Casemiro has got away with two yellow cards now. Piss poor reffing.

gavin

Fuckinell. We were almost home and hosed. Big men need to stand up now.

Hesperus

Fuck football. Talk about self destruct.

KunDB

How did we manage to throw this away?

The Blue Blooded Maniac

Cos we attacked throughout at full speed instead of applying some game management. I'm not saying park the bus but there was no need for our Defenders and keeper to run and get the ball for our own goalkicks. Finishing hasn't been the best either but that's a theme.

Hesperus

Madrid doing to ET what we should have done in the last 5 mins of normal time.

Game management.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

Shite performance by City and the ref.

gavin

A decent effort from City. Very unfortunate to go out.

The ref was an absolute disgrace from start to finish. 3 minutes injury time on that extra time and he doesn't even play it. What a cnut throughout the game.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

We should expect the referees to be shit by now but we needed to do our own job. We were two nil up early on in the first leg and the game management should have started from there. We let them back into the first leg by being naive and if we had put our chances away in the first half then we would have been in an even better position. Its got to go down to Pep for getting wrong when it really matters, again.

lee

Never a penalty for me.Ref was an absolute wanker.
Fookin typical City shit that..I thought all that stuff was over!!
Fuck it..Love City.Be boring if it was straightforward boring shite.

Hesperus

We bottled it unfortunately. Can't even blame inexperience given our tenure in this competition.

The look on Peps and the players faces in ET said it all.

Rowley Birkin QC

Mentally tougher than us.

Hesperus

Hope the players can get over this result by Sunday. They'll be mentally shattered now.

Rowley Birkin QC

I agree Hesperus. Tough loss to get over that. But if anyone can get them focused - it's Pep.

gavin

Harsh indeed to say that we bottled it or blame it on Pep. We had that in the bag with 5 minutes to go. Sometimes football goes against you. That second goal hit one bloke on the head then hit the other and flew in the net. Moments before, Jack nearly killed the game twice. The best side lost. It happens in football. I don't blame the manager, the players or even the shit ref. Football is a cruel mistress at times but we've had our share of last minutes comebacks. Though they were rather more deserved than that one.

Yes, I probably was a bit harsh there with my line about mental toughness (City have shown plenty of grit in other games), but two up going into injury time and with the passers and ball keepers we have - we should be good enough to shut it down. Real got a little lucky with the leveller, but no one is going to remember that - except us Blues.

Hesperus

Still gutted this morning. Hard to take that result on the chin.

zacc

aaarrrrrggggghhhhh
right bit calmer now the defense looked spent before the RM goals (which were well taken) then
as extra time went on the team looked shelled shocked.
Ah well City never do owt easy and will continue to put us supporters through the mill.
Good thing is it'll help the young uns to build up the character and gallows humour us oldens have ;)
Onwards and upwards

Victoria

Like the rest of us I am disappointed to say the least. I also agree it would be arrogant to think we would win everything. Is Pep a failure? No!. My take on this is the gods transpired against City. City will win the CL when we are ready too with PeP or without him. Our time will come!

Now we know how Gillingham fans felt In 99 😂

Cup competitions, anything can happen. One of Grealish's efforts go in, Pep is a genius and Madrid are washed up aging has beens.

Still digesting this result. I certainly don't think Pep is a loser.. All teams have flaws. Ours is, in my opinion, an inability to cope when things don't go as planned or expected; we cannot seem to cope with chaos. The way we lost the plot after that first goal was something to behold. Maybe this is something Pep can work on; maybe it isn't. The frustrating thing, for me, is that in some of the games that have cost us (we should have leathered Real, and beat Liverpool twice in the league) should have been dead by half time. None of this is criticism of Pep. We can't expect perfection.

If Liverpool win the quad, you'd have to just say well done and regroup for next year.

Scousers might end up with just the league cup yet. That would heal my wounds.

Amidst my nightmares that ray of hope shines through.

I have just watched the latest press conference and never seen Pep so depressed .A bit worrying - he looks ready to call it a day  .......

gavin

He seemed determined to go on until he had won it for us to me. I'm sure he said that we would try again next season and if we didn't win it then, then we would try again the season after and then again if we didn't win it. It was never going to be a cheerful one today but I was cheered by his determination.

Onto winning the title for the fourth time in five now. There's still a great season to be made.
