The pile on continues this morning.

Government treasury committee recommends HMRC investigate.

FA have also commented, the verdict has major implications for football

Media reporting Liverpool players won't shake hands with City players before the game.

It's fair to say we're getting and absolute hammering at the moment in the media.

To counter, City have lodged our appeal to the PL and called the original decision unsafe.

We all know what the result will be but we have to go through the motions. It will be interesting to see what happens after our appeal is unsuccessful. Hopefully it goes nuclear and to the law courts.

If we don't win then we will take it as far as we can for sure, and rightly so.

"Media reporting Liverpool players won't shake hands with City players before the game"

Why? These City players had nothing to do with the charges, nor the fans as was then; it Says a lot about the professionalism of Liverpool club as a whole.

It's the media trying to whip up as much vitriol as possible to inflict the most damage.

It's absolutely awful what's being reported it's literally everywhere. Can't see any journalists supporting us.

Reports of fans wearing their shirts being abused in the streets.

I'm going to be thinking very carefully about taking my 12 year old daughter to the games from now on.

From what I now understand we have been found guilty of cheating a rigged system.

Unfortunately, that is true but even more unfortunate is we agreed to the rules and to the arbitration process (binding on both parties). So to some extent self inflicted.

It all boils down to was the funding from the government or ADUG ( SM our owner) and as the evidence was limited they had to form opinions on inferences. The panel has given weight to the City emails which say ADUG over the hard 'irrefutable' evidence, such as bank statements and bank transfers and I suspect this is because some of our witnesses were found by the panel to be 'dishonest'. A panel would not use this sharp language without significant evidence. I fear for us, we will not win the appeal and it will therefore be down to how far can, and will, City take the fight.

So, the red cartel and players are going to sue City for losing out on prize money and bonuses.
I hope they all get nothing other than lawyer fees 👍

If we lose the appeal, I'm of half a mind for the owners to declare bankruptcy and none of the fuckers get anything.

I wonder if it's too late to sue Liverpool for getting all English clubs banned from Europe for 5 years...

Also, people can report the Premier league as anti-competitive.

Welcome back Swiss, long time no see.

I have a question for you though, who won the handicap league?

Hesperus

BBC at it again this morning with their relentless attacks. Apparently PL clubs are very concerned about government political interference in the charges given the impacts on UK UAE relations. The BBC have been leading the campaign against us from the beginning. They are about as impartial as that PLs "independent panel".

Another point. The timing of the guilty announcement. Just at the beginning of a 3 week international break to allow the most PR damage to the club as possible is worth noting. Clearly deliberate.

gavin

The reporting of this generally has been hysterical. It's as if this is a serious crime and not some tin pot rules. Even if guilty, it's not really that serious. Man invests in his own business, chop off his head. They need to get some perspective. These were financial rules that were brought in just before the period that is under question. Not rules of the game for years. Honestly, I couldn't really give a toss if we broke them. Child killers get less vitriol. It's fed right from the board rooms of the red cartel to the BBC.

Something no one seems to be talking about that concerns me.

If the guilty of deliberate fraud verdict stands after appeal, then we have continued to commit this offence for all the years after these charges to date.

Furthermore, our owners and accountants will have to lie in the future accounts (including this years) if they genuinely know that money is coming from our sponsors and not our owner.

This is a ridiculous position we are heading into.

Hesperus

This is problem, we've been found guilty of very serious fraud charges by a panel on the balance of probabilities, not a law court. We will lose the PL appeal.

We will be forced to either accept the verdict and sanctions or somehow challenge them in the law courts.

If we accept the charges. We're done for and the owners will have to go.

If we challenge in the courts this will last years and during the process we'll no doubt lose sponsors, players and reputational damage the like of which no club will have ever experienced.

I hope we challenge in the courts and eventually win but the damage will be done that will take years to recover from

Does anyone see a more positive angle for us? I genuinely hope there is, but I fear not.

The charges from the PL have all the hallmarks of a witch hunt.  I don't think this has been an impartial tribunal at all if it's true that the PL j=hand picked the 'independent arbitrators'.  We all know the clubs that pressured the PL into this.  Clubs that have benefitted hugely from interest free owner loans.  The fact that both Liverpool and Utd had private meetings with both Liverpool and Utd prior to being verified as the new PL chief should be investigated, or at least clarified by all parties involved.

Hesperus

I totally agree, it has been a witch hunt. The FFP rules the PL brought in were completely unfair and undoubtedly aimed at stopping us. As others have said what other businesses don't allow their owners to invest in their business.

All that said, as per my previous post, I think they've done for us,  I can't see a good way out.
