City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Demichelis, Kolarov, Toure (C), Fernandinho, Silva, Delph, Sterling, Aguero

Subs: Caballero, Clichy, Sagna, A.Garcia, Fernando, Celina, Iheanacho

C'mon City lets go top of the table

Rowley Birkin QC

Quite like the team. Width from the full backs and presumably Delph will be given licence to roam?

Rowley Birkin QC

Somewhat ironic that we make several changes - but the 'Tinkerman' fields an unchanged side.  ;)

Swiss

Shocking start

Not sure why we play Delph on the left wing...

Rowley Birkin QC

We're not attacking their 6 yard box with much conviction...

Rowley Birkin QC

Another foot left in on Aguero and I'm going to wonder if it's deliberate (2 so far...)

KunDB

Roll on Pep.

He will be down the local markets already looking for two new centre backs, if he has seen us today. No pace at all.

Ref is too soft.

Rowley Birkin QC

KunDB

Aguero apart we have no players attacking their box and when we do they are just statues.

Swiss

It feels like the foxes have 2 extra players and we're all playing on desert islands

Rowley Birkin QC

We are just lacking that final touch of quality and anticipation at the moment. We've actually played quite well since the early goal woke us up.

Some of these Leicester tackles are a bit tasty

Swiss

KunDB

Leicester play with pace, purpose and directness.

We lack all of that and more. We are so naive at times and have a massive weakness in defence that Leicester have set out to exploit; too high a line with no pace to boot.

Rowley Birkin QC

I don't think things are quite that bad, but Pellers certainly needs to tweak things and focus a few minds at the break.

I'd like us to shoot a bit more.

I don't believe this. Well I do but you know

Rowley Birkin QC

So you're allowed to put your hands on a defender's shoulders going for a header?

Are you sure about that?

Not always right or gloating but we can all see how poor defence is, how poor our passing is. This has been coming for a while now. We have got away with far too many poor performances this season already.

Yes, we all hoped we would suddenly spark into form, but that is not happening at all.

guidebridgeblue

Carry on like this and finish outside the top 4

I know Merlin went off injured today, but he has been well out of form since he came back from his time out through injury.

Our passing as a team in recent weeks has got worse and worse still today.

Leicester playing training ground football now and shooty in.

Delighted Sergio got a goal.

Swiss

You've got more personalities than Andy goram!

Impressed with  ellina since he came on. Someone a bit more direct.

Joe Hart's made some great saves.

The only positives from this game

KunDB

Sergio works non stop every game, he deserves anything he gets.

We have no defence worth talking about.

Our midfield lacks energy (Yaya).

Our attack is too slow and lacks biting edge; goals come from individual brilliance too frequently.

Our passing wow what can I say.

Oh and well done Leicester.

Rowley Birkin QC

In spite of what 'Zabba' said at half time, we were OK in the first half and certainly looked like we could go on to win it with some improved effort - but the second goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of us, and we looked well beaten after the third.

All sorts of strange stuff going on in that second half. Too often muscled out of tackles or a fraction too slow to a 50 / 50 ball. Where was the desire? Where was the fight? And once we got the ball we tried some invention but nothing came off for us and when things opened up we always fluffed the vital pass.

Rowley Birkin QC

Have to give some credit to Leicester.

OK - I was less than happy about their treatment of Aguero; we should have had a penalty; and the third goal shouldn't have been allowed - but aside from bitching about that, it should be noted that Leicester played away, against the supposed 'Premiership favourites' and played good old 4-4-2 football - and won well. Talk about self belief...

Lekos

When should we have had a penalty? The foul on Zabba? Outside the box if so.

We didn't deserve anything from the game.

That has been the theme for quite a few games this season and even some we won. We also are second best more often than not to losse ball. Yaya is just a non trier for most of a game and has been for ages.

I said ages ago Pelle was not good enough, he frequently fails to set us up right and motivate the players and he has stood by and watched a shambolic defence all season and done absolutely nought to sort it. I also said end of season was time to rid ourselves of him (nice guy though he is), so I am happy Pep is on his way, he will not stand for this lazy shite 'play only when you are behind or time is running out' attitude.

Lekos is spot on with his post No Penalty and we got what we deserved and Leicester got what they deserved - a win for trying and 3 points.

Stephen Paul

they were a yard quicker all day . We needed something from this game because of the fixture pile up coming our way

Neil Mcnab

As Guide Bridge said, top 4 is no certainty with a display like that. Hart was OK. Even Kun was trying the impossible, poor decision making.

Little aerial threat, so crosses and corners were easy to deal with.

Goals change games and the early goal for them made a different game. While chasing the game our full backs were always up the pitch, leaving us exposed. Their defense was as assured as ours was poor.

I can only think Silva is playing with an injury, because he is a shadow of the player we know he is. Toure always offered little in defense, now he offers little going forward either. Does not deserve to start. Passing by the whole team was poor.

Sh*t display.

ebm1991

Foxes attacked better and defended better.
Nothing else to it.

silvablue

The 4 1 humiliation at home to an average Liverpool team and today's 3 1 humiliation at home to a lively, pacy Leicester team and our other home defeats this season are appropriate obituaries for MPs reign. Dazzling at times dismal when it matters.

The talk of 'The Quad' when we have won nothing, played most part this season and won nothing last season, well quite frankly it is embarrassing and just pie in the sky bullshit. Lets hope we win the League Cup because that is all we can realistically expect this group of under-achieving players to win.

gavin

It was a quite terrible performance. Many questionable decisions from the manager such as Delph on the left again with Yaya further back - fucking idiocy. The defence was a shambles and we should have conceded more really. Most all of the players were bad. A real, collective pile of steaming, white, dog shite. The sort even the most conscientious of dog owner's would refuse to bag. Walk within a couple of yards and the smell makes you want to vomit. It is the sort of thing you just hope passes quickly. Truth is though that it has been coming. It was there in midweek. We've seen it before against Liverpool. It is just not good enough. Yes, there are some excuses with injuries but with that side we should be doing much, much better against their side.

Well done to Leicester they were well worthy of three points and being top of the league.

Sean

This beating has been on the cards for a while now as we have been poor an lucky. The players need to step up and perform better, they are being paid well enough for it. Hopefully this is the kick in the arse the players and management need.

Rowley Birkin QC

Feet on the line when fouled = penalty

(Not that it matters)

Yes ^ ....embarrassingly shambolic, like nobody gives a fuck anymore, we were so horrible and inept 1st half I fell asleep at HT (never done that before) so missed most of 2nd half.

Wonder if Pep has an out clause ?

Ludo

That's possibly the most inept performance at home since the Pearce era.

Kolarov must be the worst City player I've ever seen and I've seen some shit. We were that bad Fernando improved us.

In general I like Kolarov. He offers far more than clichy. However today his attacks were complete shite.

Don't be daft, I could list dozens and dozens of players worse than Kolarov that I've seen over the years, he wasn't even the worst player yesterday, that dubious honour has to go to our CBs, who for the first two goals - and also whenever Vardy broke through - seemingly forgot all the basics of defending that they should have learned over the years. Hart dug them out of a hole a few times when Vardy was one on one.

Ludo

Ok perhaps worst ever was an exaggeration but he's still shit.

And quite the contrary I thought he was far and away our worst performer yesterday. Outside of the odd free kick I don't think he brings anything at all to the team.

gavin

Kolorov was awful yesterday but on the whole he has been a very useful player for us. He normally gets a few decent balls in but failed yesterday almost completely. I did notice him hit one into a decent area but no-one was there.

I think it is unfair to pick out individuals from yesterday.

KunDB

It was a team failure of massive proportions, clearly we lacked an on field leader and off field leadership.

This is an article I agree with, a good sum up:#
