We are going to need to be patient and realise that we will not be as successful again. It was a historical period of success that no-one will be able to match. If we become a club that wins the league every now and then, then that is success. Look at United, Arsenal and Liverpool and their decades without. Be humble, patient and never expect to match what Pep did. He is very special.

citymancs / The post Pep Blues?

Bit of a play on words.

Have to say I'm feeling very sad today, seeing Pep on the touch line for a final time yesterday hit me like a brick. It's been coming, it had to happen one day but the end came about so quickly I'm in a state of shock I think. I can't quite put into words how I feel. Gutted, uncertain, nostalgic, joyful.

Then there's the other answer to the title question, what will "The Post Pep Blues" look like?

It's certainly the end of an era, will we go on and win trophies? Will we go the same way as Arsenal after Wenger, Utd after Fergie? I hope not but it's certainly a real possibility.

Is the next manager a stop gap until a top name becomes available? Kompany?

20 trophies in ten years! We can't expect that again surely? I think if we get a quarter of that we'll be doing very, very well.

One thing is for certain. No one will ever live up to, or beat Pep's record. So we'll have to be realistic in our expectations and patient with our frustrations.

What are everyone reflections on "The post Pep Blues"?

VAR is a game spoiler, but will not be going away sadly.

Heart wrenching to say goodbye to Pep, Bernardo and John.

Who knows what lies ahead.

Very disappointing second half. I thought Phil looked offside to be honest but then they show that graphic with his arse level with the Villa players foot. Absolutely ridiculous. VAR is a fucking joke.

Should be more than one really. We need to find that killer touch next season.

Bernardo, Stones & Foden all had to start.

Sad day losing Pep and so many established stars.

Trafford, Lewis, Stones, Dias, Ake, Nico, Bernardo (C), Reijnders, Foden, Savinho, Semenyo.

Subs: Bettinelli, Marmoush, Kovacic, Cherki, Doku, Ait-Nouri, Gvardiol, Nunes, Alleyne

A cup like line up for Peps last match. Stones had to start though for me.

It's a dead rubber. Who cares about the result. Today's all about Pep!

That said, I'll bet he'll be going mad on the touch line demanding a win from the players!

12-0.

City to win 3-1. It would be nice to send off the three leavers with a win.
