It's very sad to see houses where it used to be. I used to walk around there in my lunch when I worked in Hulme for a while a few years ago. It took me back looking at the signs for Kippax Street and Maine Road, and walking across Platt Lane and through Platt Fields. We used to park near the toast rack university building back in the eighties.

I've watched more matches at the new stadium now probably but Maine Road can't ever really be replaced. All the side streets and cobbled ginnels then suddenly there it was.

Enjoyed visiting the old site of Maine Road today and getting a photo of the centre spot marking and area.

Hoping it will be topped off with a win against Spurs

C'mon City.

I'll go for 3-1 but as always at Spurs, I've got a bad feeling about it. Actually, even more so with our recent form.

Quote from: gavin on January 28, 2026, 22:08:23A frustrating second half from City. So many opportunities to score more were spurned. Tense at the end too as a Real Madrid equaliser would have seen us in ninth and in a play off. Just scraped straight through in 8th. Benfica's keeper actually scored a last minute goal against 9 man Real Madrid to win 4-2 and scrape into the play offs.

Just my thoughts as well at the game.

Pep was going nuts at our low intensity second half and careless passing. Last quarter we ceded control to Galatasary inexplicably. The best I can figure out is we took our foot off the pedal and Bernardo run out of steam (he was driving the team forward first half).

Doku was brilliant until his unfortunate injury.

Lovely seeing Sané and Gündoğa back.

Onwards and upwards. Have to improve a lot mind.
