Just under half an hour gone here, and Tim Cahill has just opened his A-League account for Melbourne City with a wonder goal from the middle of the the Victory half!!!!

Melbourne Victory 0 Melbourne City 1

Rowley Birkin QC

Whoa!

Melbourne Victory 0 Melbourne City 2 now!

0 - 3  :)

Victory are the Big Club in this town - and City playing them off the park here.

Rowley Birkin QC

1 - 3  Very much against the run of play.

Now let's hope the converse holds true...

Melbourne City fans starting to air some of our songs!

"Laaa, Laaa, Laaa, La-a-La Laaa... La-a-La Laaaa - City!"

(Victory fans resorting to predictable "Where were you when you were shit)

Good game this.

Final whistle 1 - 4

Melbourne City were very good. Nice tempo, good passing, worked very hard and gave Victory precious little time on the ball. Just a little shaky at the back occasionally (sound familiar?) but considering there are a lot of new faces in this City team they have gelled remarkably quickly. Tim Cahill just gave a very good post match interview. I'm impressed.

Just over 43,000 = a good crowd for football here. Good atmosphere.

Sounds good. A decent crowd indeed. Hope it turns out to be a good season for them.

Seen the first half this morning and thought they played well.

Cracking goal from Cahill. Makes a change from him scoring regularly against us.

Not too long ago that would have been reason enough to sack the Melbourne manager.  ;)

Yes - I had to pinch myself. When I settled here the only things you heard mentioned here when English football came up was Liverpool or the rags. How times change :)
