It is sad. They should have given him chance to avoid relegation and continue in the Champions League. They would have been nowhere near that competition without Ranieri. Normally i have little sympathy for sacked managers but if ever there were a special case this is it. The position they are in would have been expected last season. It is last season that was the freak and should have been treated as a wonderful dream by them.

Likely still be in a job if he'd guided Leicester to a respectable 7th or 8th place finish last season and had that as a starting point to work from for this season.

The players must have got massive increases in their contracts in the summer, owners now shitting themselves how to honour those if they go down. They spent big in the summer, for zero return. Tinkerman had to go. Legend last season, shit this. Its like saying Negredo should have stayed, because of what he did in the first six months. The players were probably not the only ones to get a better contract in the summer, Ranieri can retire and buy Capri.
