. One on ones or when he's clean through he always seems to miss. This is surely a psychological thing, but it's something he needs to put right.    If Sterling and Pep can work on correcting this, then we'll have a player. If not, then long term he's probably going to be moved on.

some  players are just like that, the longer they have to  think the more chance of  fucking up. darren huckerby was the king of it. not sure its fixable like in the same way always seeming to be in the right place isnt teachable

Lekos

Positioning is teachable - we've seen that with Raheem this season.  Not panicking and spooning shots not so teachable.

goat

not positioning, the instinct to know where the ball will drop

What's the difference? Asking for a friend...

in your 40 years watching football youve never heard the term strikers instinct?

odd

half asleep and not that arsed so best way ill probably put it is

positioning = where manager wants/expects you to be
instinct = taking a chance, betting on a mistake from the defender etc etc

probably more the poacher type strikers that are pretty much extinct because of people like pep expecting players to be able to play. imagine pippo inzaghi in a pep team

Yeah, fair enough. In my mind they both overlap somewhat.
