XI | Ortega Moreno, Lewis, Dias, Laporte, Gomez, Rodrigo, Gundogan (C), Palmer, Mahrez, Grealish, Alvarez

SUBS | Ederson, Phillips, Stones, Ake, Haaland, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Akanji, Foden

Strong side and bench

KunDB

Strong side just showing the depth of the squad.

Expect a real battle tonight but hopefully ending in a City win against a very defensive Chelsea.

2 1  score prediction, as I am not imagining a high scoring game.

Ortega had a decent half. City on top but looking open to the break from Chelsea. I think we might see Pep tweak things a little bit at half time.

The Blue Blooded Maniac

It usually seems that the only contribution that Mahrez makes is a goal.

KunDB

2 quickie goals against negative Chelsea.

Alvarez so impressive.

Stefan had certainly showcased his saving talents tonight. Top performance by him.

Agreed! Unbeatable tonight and well deserved!

gavin

Not the greatest performance overall but a good result and no real stress. Jack was very productive without finding the finishing touches. Ortega looks a very good keeper. Good to see Mahrez get another goal and hopefully boost his confidence a bit further.

1. Ortega - brilliant - kept us in the game
2.Grealish - rose to the occasion and unlucky not to score
3. Koulibaly - Mangala take 2. Thank God we didn't pursue him
4. Chalobah - has the worst haircut in the league despite competition from Haaland
5. Lots of big teams out already
6. KDB, Phil and Haaland fully rested for Brentford
7. Phillips back and looking happy

Addendum
8. How much more enjoyable is football without VAR?!

gavin

Yes, I was delighted when they said there was no VAR.

Good result and into round 4

A couple of big hitters out
