These are the next two games in the league. Hard to believe that either would be doing so well at this stage, particularly Southampton after losing so many of their players in the summer. We could be 7 or more points behind them if we lose to them! Swansea could draw level with us in the next game. There should be no excuses for us to fall behind these two. If we do then our players need to take a long hard look at themselves given the comparative fees and wages between the clubs. The occasional accident can happen but over a quarter over the season in we should be getting clear of these teams not shuffling for position with them.

Makes you wonder in seasons like this if a club could get spawny till xmas, take a risk, spend a lot on say 5 players in the transfer window and keep up the momentum till the end.

Seems like lots of teams are there for the taking at certain times of the season and it just gets a bit like a formula 1 precession.  Surely this could get exploited by someone clever.

It is a seemingly ridiculous but also possible scenario.

Even more ridiculous at this stage of the season, soon to go into the critical xmas period, is that we do not have a settled defence and barely a clean sheet all season.

Does anyone know (including Pelle and players) who our first choice back four is or our first choice central defensive pair?

How Pelle has achieved that I cannot fathom, especially after spending £32m on a centre back (who only plays occasionally).

So losing to these in-form pair, not saying it will happen, but it is a live possibility.

The problem with not having a settles back four is down to injuries and that's fair enough.

What is daft though is having fit players who are willing to put the shift in required who cant get in the starting line up cos there's lazy shits in the way who are undropable.

:D I'm sure the lazy shits will wake up soon, this can't carry on. (That's how Pellegrini is thinking anyway).

It's not hard to believe when you look how bad the supposed title contenders are doing
ie :
City
Arsenal
Liverpool

Even West ham are on a bit of a roll
