you may have your own bugbears about phrases that are used:-
"big ideas" how about just saying ideas afterall no-one is going to talk about small ideas  so they must be big anyway.
"at this moment of time" hey  that means now, one simple word .
"underscore" nope I underline
etc etc

I've noticed 'it is what it is' has snuck in from across the pond.
What actually, does that mean?  Is it another way of saying 'so be it'?

To me it just means it's something you can't change and have to live with.
