Kane is out of the picture. Do we try for another striker now, or battle it out for Haaland next year?

Minus Sergio and Plus Grealish. Given Sergio's injuries last season, I don't think that we've gone backwards. We made the final last year so I don't see why we can't again and win it this time. Still a few days to sign a striker regardless. Delap will come into the mix if we don't.

It was inexplicable to me we weren’t trying to sign one as it was, but this situation must mean we need one now!

Cancelo and Zinchenko can do a good job for us again. Mendy isn't a great loss from a footballing perspective only.

All the players mentioned can do a job at LB but none are specialised LBs. it’s been a problem position for years, Chelsea targeted wit during the CL final to good effect and other teams will, and have done too. We’d just be so much stronger at the back with a really good LB. it’s a no brainier for me but clearly the club feel different.

News about Ronaldo joining is growing in confidence.

Still very unsure about this, I truly despised the prancing, preening, prima Donna whilst at Utd and his personality has never changed at other clubs.

At 36 his is not the same player despite his exceptional physical condition, but he’s still a very, very good player,  will certainly raise the clubs profile and we need a striker…….Jeez, I think I may have talked myself around!

There are rumours he (Haarland) is demanding £850k per week.

I think the deal with Bayern for next season is probably already done. Although he would have been my first choice over Kane and all others.
